I do appreciate everyone's input.
Let me step back and ask a more basic question, particularly of
@WavMixer . That is, when I recreated the link to my signature and the images I did the following:
1. Uploaded the pic from my computer to an album I created in TTR.
2. Navigated to the pic in the album.
3. Copied the link in the field entitled, "Share BB Code:" for posting images. I use the Share Image: link for my signature.
4. Pasted that link into the post or signature entry.
In one sense it works, as I am seeing the images, RVA is seeing them, and Wavmixer is seeing them. So, let me ask, am I selecting the correct link? I did try the others, and they don't seem to create an inline image, just a link to the image.
Now, I will describe an interesting experiment I conducted earlier. Using my wife's computer, which is running Windows 7 and and older version of Firefox, I browsed to the forum, but did not log in. I navigated to my Les Paul Studio thread to see if I could see the images. I couldn't. I got the same [ IMG ] text and broken link icon that others have noted. Also, I only had the [ IMG ] text where my signature pic should be. Then, I logged onto the forum from her computer. When I did that, my image links and my signature pic showed up! I then logged off, and the pictures and signature continued to show after that. I repeated this on my son's PC, also running Windows 7, but this time I used Internet Explorer. I had the exact same results.
My computer is a Windows 10 laptop. I use the latest version of Opera on that. The modern version of Opera is essentially a skin for Chrome. I have no issues with viewing images from that. Also, my Chromebook displays my new image links and signature just fine. I also have no issues with my iPhone 5s, running the latest version of iOS, and my Kindle, which is an Android.
So, all of this is weird.
Wavmixer...what are your thoughts on this?
