1984 Ibanez DT 555 Destroyer Replica Build:

Heck use what was original since the thing is basically a Ibanez Clone.

Not exactly an Ibanez clone...but the differences are subtle...The neck was made to my specifications. It measures 1.00" at both the nut and 12th frets with a 12" radius.

I still have the original police report from 1988 where my original was reported stolen. I found the original serial number on this document... :-)

Im not a 3 pup guy but i do like that guitar alot. Its a Classic looking guitar of the times. Ive had a Ibanez and it was top notch guitar

I LOVE these

Ok...on the original Ibanez Destroyer II, with triple humbuckers, the middle pickup is always on and can be rolled in or out with its own volume pot.

The attached diagram shows the stock Ibanez wire schematics.

I'm thinking about just going with a three way switch for conventional bridge/muddle/neck configuration.

Thoughts???

Wow....I found these on GFS....solid brass...6mm x 18 spline coarse...Perfect!!!

GFS Knobs.jpg

Very close to the brass plated cast metal Sure Grip I knobs, shown below on an all-original DT555

All it needs is the Sure Grip rubber bands....AND I found them too!!!!!

I'm sure it will come as no surprise to anyone, but I dig the direction this thing taken.
The world needs more triple humbucker guitars.
It's a beauty, Robert.

Thanks, Man...I been wanting a replacement ever since mine was stolen in 1988. This was the easiest way to turn back time...

That middle one hanging there looks more like a nutsack on a large bull, than a boob.

Here's a page from a Japanese Ibanez catalogue for you Robert!

And this is a page from an English language Ibanez catalogue. I had a copy of this back in the day. I used to stare at it for ages cos it had Dave and Adrian from Iron Maiden playing Destroyers as well as Phil Collen (who was new in Def Leppard) pictured in some band called Girl? (No internet so couldn't look them up to see who the hell they were!)
My copy of the catalogue is long gone, but the Ibanez Blazer I bought at the time still remains!
