Perfect albums: Albums that go 10/10

I can't name ten "perfect" albums, but two that I really like and enjoy listening to all the way through are both Eric Johnson albums.

Tones
Ah Via Musicom

Both albums have a wide variety of music from beginning to end.

Ah Via Musicom has the song, High Landrons, which I consider to be an exceptionally good piece, but which doesn't get the notoriety of Eric's more popular, Cliffs of Dover.

This is such a subjective topic.
It all depends what you are into.
Are we talking rock, hard rock, metal? or any music genre?
if we are talking any music genre then you can go nuts.
I'm sure Purple Rain - Prince, Straight Outta Compton - NWA and Michael Jackson's albums are up here too.

ok, my 10/10 personal albums

Heaven and Hell - Sabbath/Dio
Black Sabbath - Sabbath
Appetite or Destruction - GnR
Electric Ladyland - Hendrix
Boston - Boston
1984 - VH
Ten - Pearl Jam
Creatures of the Night - Kiss
Hotel California - Eagles
Out of the Cellar - Ratt
Rock n Roll - Motorhead (never listen to "Just cos you got the power" before going to work, you'll get fired!)
Nevermind - Nirvana (bring on the boos, I dont care)
Back in Black - AC/DC
Ultimate Sin - Ozzy
Master of Puppets / Ride the Lightning / Kill em All / Justice for All - Metallica (can listen to that all day, I know because I have!)
Among the Living - Anthrax
Shout at the Devil - Motley Crue
Abigail - King Diamond
Toxicity - System of a Down
Seasons in the Abyss - Slayer
Deliverance - Corrosion of Conformity
Peace Sells / So Far So Good So What - Megadeth

I've been working on this for a while, man this list can get huge!!!

Wow, some really great ones in here! Hotel California is indeed, perfect by any measure, as is Boston's debut really. Awesome shout outs to Deliverance and Abigail too.

Yeah I think the genres are irrelevant, it's whatever you personally think is a perfect album where you can't find a fault anywhere. Just something you listen to from cover to cover without skipping a single note. So for that matter, if someone where to name a pop, country or rap album? Then perfect is perfect

Ah Via Musicom is a phenomenal record, absolute landmark in guitar wizardry

I don't consider there to be a lot of "perfect" albums, but there still are plenty that come close. For example, Led Zeppelin is one of my favorite bands of all time but I really don't think they ever made a perfect album. Other artists that I would have never though capable of a perfect album managed to crank one out. Might be different if I made this list tomorrow but here's some I can rattle off that are my "desert island" albums because they are startlingly good, from the first note to the last, and I never get tired of listening to them or skip a tune when I do...

Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Master of Reality
The Beatles - Revolver and Sgt. Pepper
Tool - Lateralus
Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bullocks
The Black Crowes - Southern Harmony and Musical Companion
Aerosmith - Rocks
Judas Priest - Stained Class
A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
PJ Harvey - Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea
Urge Overkill - Saturation
The Jesus and Mary Chain - Psychocandy
The Cranberries - Everybody Else is Doing it...
Yes - Close To The Edge
Queens of the Stone Age - QOTSA
Prince - Sign o' the Times
Thievery Corporation - The Richest Man in Babylon
Sasquatch - II
The Stooges - The Stooges
The Verve - Urban Hymns
Rush - Snakes and Arrows
The Novaks - The Novaks
The Black Keys - Chulahoma
House of Broken Promises - Using the Useless
The Kills - No Wow
Buzzcocks - SIngles Going Steady

Some really interesting albums here. And a wide range of genres as well. Which I think is really cool. One band that’s seems to be AWOL with one exception. Rolling Stones. Go figure.

That doesn't surprise me TBH. The closest they ever came to a "perfect" start-to-finish album was Some Girls IMO.. But even that one was let down by one tune (The Cover of 'Just My Imagination').

I was split on Exile On Main St. And Sticky Fingers but, as much as I absolutely adore Exile, Sticky Fingers was them at their true grittiest yet had so many different styles layering in it. From country swing in Dead Flowers, to beautiful melodies in Wild Horses and Moonlight Mile then old delta blues in You Gotta Move and I Got the Blues, rock outs in Bitch and Brown Sugar and the immortal Can't You Hear Me Knocking. Compounded with gritty and almost haunting tracks like Sway and Sister Morphine.

Knew I could rely on you for a Tool album lol always was back and forth between Lateralus and Aenima but, I think Lateralus is more well rounded and miles more complex.

Rocks is the absolute best Aerosmith album and as hard as it gets in terms of rock.

Beatles - Abbey Road
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery
Yes - Close to the Edge
Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick
Johnny Winter - And Live
Ten Years After - Ssssh

Other than the Beatles I saw the tour for all of the above albums.
Live Johnny Winter And is a great jam out album with the legendary Rick Derringer onboard

Steely Dan- Aja & Katy Lied
Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
Black Sabbath -Sabotage
Rush-Moving Pictures
Zep=1,2,4,Physical Graffiti
Pantera- Far Beyond Driven
Kiss- Alive
GNR-Appetite
Metallica- Kill em all, Master, Ride the Lightning
Floyd- Wall & Dark side
Me and my wife discussed the Zep debate. For the cool factor, I always loved Physical Graffiti but, IV is such a well rounded album despite hearing it ad-nauseum ( which ain't a bad thing!)
Hmmmm...

Highway To Hell
Pyromania
Back in Black
Pyromania is SO grossly underrated NOWADAYS. It is still one of the best selling albums and for great reason. Def Leppard hadn't well full on AOR yet and kept some of their NWOBHM roots, yet they made it more palatable to the masses

The tone of the guitars and just the production of Pyromania in general, makes it one of my all-time favorites.

Pink Floyd - DSOTM
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Radiohead - OK Computer
Radiohead - The Bends
The Charlatans - Tellin Stories
Primal Scream - Screamadelica
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
Ramones - Ramones
