Thanks guys. You should know that it's not my best work, that particular maple lam doesn't like tru-oil at all. About half way thru I wasn't sure if it was even going to work. I almost gave up on it out of frustration a couple of times.

Have you ever tried using Genuine Oil? It's Birchwood-Casey stock oil, but has a satin finish.

I've never tried it, I've never even seen it. I don't normally like satin finishes because of the way it gets shiny in places where you touch it the most. Don't know if the oil would do that, but I still probably wouldn't try it.

Same here. Only Tru-Oil on a couple guitars and a pine 1x12 speaker cab. Really like working with it.

I have a Jackson body I've been threatening to refinish for a few years and an Epi Paul that has been beaten to hell and back that I want to repair and repaint. I may try the satin oil to finish the top of the Epi Paul for gits and Shiggles.
