Richie Faulkner 's Tone

I still kick myself in the ass for letting an original Peavey 5150 go to a "friend" for next to nothing, who decided to pawn it instead of selling it back at the same price if he didn't like it. I didn't dig it at the time but I honestly didn't use it right.

I was stuck on the classic Marshall mid crunch sound and that was so radically different. Had I kept it, I would've used it properly in the more modern metal sound I was heading towards anyways without realizing it.

Still, as good as it could've been, a 6505+ goes much much further, much like ENGLs

I just played a 50w 5153 white. $799
Turned it down to bedroom volume.
Blue and Red channels sound awesome.
Then I played a The new DSl 40cr , damn.
Didn't mess with any channels just dirty as it was and it kicks ass. Difference would be past 3 on the master. Well $300 more for the Marshall name but I bet dollars to donuts cranked the 5153 mops the floor.
I just wonder if the GC employee's can handle the truth. Lol
