TVvoodoo's Straplab

Off the bench today a fresh No Prisoners series strap named "Mongo" -
It's man body features dark olive/gray buttery leather with 18 studded leather disks
all up and down - kind of in an old-word medieval warrior sort of vibe, and some
fender tweed peeking through deep inside.

iFKZYWvL_o.jpg

This is about as heavy duty as guitar strap can be made and goes between 45"-62" so pretty long, at 3" wide and luxuriously padded.

Look! More cool guitar shots come it! Ryley in Quebec is a long-time Well-Hung Warrior, and also has an eye for some really wonderful guitars.
Case in point... two he sent me slung on a recent purchase... This Yamaha SBG

FloNDF3X_o.jpg

Then this pic of the strap he won in my annual endorserment draw just a couple months ago, on this emerald SG with P-90s\
He got this sweet strap for free just by posting his gat pix on the web somewhere, and linking to my store

cQNyxWpL_o.jpg

It's fun to watch whatever guitar he picks up next, he's in heavy acquisition mode right now. Respect!

Thanks for the candy @Session 5 , admittedly I do have a bit of a sweet tooth
Today I was in the shop early and basically worked my dang tail off!
Getting three of these beauties done in one day is a challenge!

WyINw9ZW_o.jpg

Guitarists who know their rock 'n roll history will recognize this strap as one chosen by a couple of iconic legends. I call mine the "Excess of X's" but there is but one famous one all the other makers of the work base their own versions upon.

I'm not going to talk much about all those others, only to say that mine is a full 3" wide, ULTRA padded and lined.
It's so pillow-comfortable, the X-lacing won't come through the backside of the strap to annoy you.
In fact, my padding is so good you don't even feel the lacing at all.
Also I think I'm the only one making these with softly rolled edges rather than plain old sharp cutoffs.
Why do I go to all this extra trouble? For words like these from my fellow guitar brothers.

"Excellent strap! These straps are the most comfortable I've ever owned.
And, they look sick! Happy customer!"
- David in Kansas City

Another difference is I offer mine in a beautiful ladder-back style. The adjustment style on the original?
I've made replicas before, but I saw the system a pain to make and less than ideal as far as practicality and adjustibility.

RfnBVqQX_o.jpg

beautiful cowhide suede, for both the main body, and the lacing.
Robust oil-tanned leather ends for superb security. Have a super weekend brothers!

IoWi55A8_o.gif

I've been away for a bit, visiting the in-laws over the Easter weekend I hope yours was relaxing! I did manage to
escape for a bit to go shopping for some materials and I was not disappointed, so keep watching for cool stuff!

First off a pic came in from Mr. Kemp, sort of related to the above. I've already sold off two of those new Hendrix/Gilmours.
If they weren't such a dang PITA to make....

klYisqSl_o.jpg

I called this one Vintage Hybrid #1 it was a mash up between the hendrix gilmour and the Glen burton of Alice Cooper fame strap with that big ol; buckle. Dude told me on instagram he LOVES it, and it's slaying audiences too

I found some cool python in my travels and cut a bunch up for some regular 3" wide straps, but there were some off-cuts and I was able to make a couple of those skinny floating pad straps to use that up - I need to have more a mind to use up off cuts, my collection of leather scraps is getting a bit out of control. Or figure out some new things to make!

c9MO9Cov_o.jpg

- This is a very nice split cowhide in tan and black. I Married it to a layer of strong gray nubuck suede on the backside.
The scales are laser cut which gives these an extra snakey texture. I'm calling these the "Randy Python" vintage floater" 46" -57" adjustable.

szf1nOGx_o.jpg

When I make my version of this vintage skinny strap style, you can count on VERY strong skinny straps, trusty hardware. 1" thick upholstery foam padding on the 3" wide shoulder pad, and grippy too, everything... so it won't slide all over the place, my big problem with others in this style. Just overall massively improved I think, with heavier black leather ends too.

I'll try to get these in the store tomorrow.

On my recent travels I found a side of Italian leather in a dark red/burgundy. I don't make reddish straps that often, but when I spied this hide, it struck me as kind of special so I picked it up. Today I finished some beauties up - I'm calling this limited edition run "Brimstone."

VRxVJAth_o.jpg

3" wide, with heavy duty black leather on the nose and tail, these straps could very well could outlast most guitars they'll be strapped to. Rolled edges on the sides, won't bite your neck and plenty long - a generous 44"-59" for length, approx 8 inches longer than most storeboughts.

IMG_20230414_141921.jpg

Just a classy and simple no-nonsense strap fit for any guitar gent seeking the ultimate in a classy / comfort guitar strap experience. From what I hear, Well-Hung straps outperform other so-called comfort straps by a wide margin, and thankfully they don't look like geezer-gear orthopedic straps.

Colin sent in a photo of two of his instruments set up with paisley flavoured Well-Hung slings,
he's a busy performer out Eastern Canada way, see him post often on instagram. Faithful Well-Hung warrior!

Some experimenting with a new design, or build method this morning.
Going to put these up on reverb tomorrow at reduced "prototype" price.

These are not near as padded as my typical strap, I'd call it "half padded" with a vegan leatherette feel, looks and feels a lot like leather, but slightly slippy.

ljtTJeEB_o.jpg

A version with salmon, light brown, dirty yellow, olive green, black and white.

ONWcWH62_o.jpg

This one in bright blue, yellow, reddish brown, tan, dark brown and white.

This series, if I continue it, will be called "Hootenanny Hero." They were a little harder to make than I wanted them to be. As short as 40" to as long as 60" long.

jx1ZJXsQ_o.jpg

No big deal... you've seen this before, right? No, I'm gonna to argue you probably have not.
These are 3" wide with sliding buckle hardware I had specifically molded for me because.anything else available in 3" wide was weak junk. Also, heavy leather ends. VERY sturdy.

Go ahead -> just try and find this kind of vintagey-groove strap with a leathery look, feel,
that is nicely padded and 3" wide. I'll wait.:)

You've never seen anything like it, neither have I but I just had to make it.

"Tribble" is just me getting my creative ya-ya's out here in the shop. I found
this crazy material recently on my travels and had to make a few out of it.
It's strong, but with these fluffy bumps all over it.

AXIuCnE3_o.jpg

Great texture under lights! Also has heavy leather nose and tail, and goes to nearly 60" long.
That's way longer than most ladderback straps, and you can trust mine more ecause I use real good leather on the nose and tail that won't try to spit out your strap buttons!

uXKxjz4u_o.jpg

Looks kind of space age, but they are a soft and flexy fabric, with my luxurious padding inside the body and are lined with heavy black velvet for the ultimate in neck dive stoppage. If you are seeking extra comfort, but are also a bit on the crazy side, this one is for you!

Found some extremely beautiful upholstery fabric in my travels, this stuff is a black damask pattern embroidered on a deep ruby red base, that has a bit of an inner glow/ flip-flop to it. Quite difficult to photograph. I didn't get too much of it because it was hella expensive. As often happens, I now feel should have picked up more. hindsight=20/20

Eucq0mEY_o.jpg

Made three of them, posted on f-book last night. One's already snapped up.

Calling this one "Lunch With Lucifer."

In my mind while making it, I was thinking "Say you had a lunch-out with the guy..." you know he's prolly 100% fashed-out, sportin' a sexy/elegant dinner jacket made out of something just like this stuff. Of course you know he'd be quite charming, catching the eye of all the ladies, make you laugh like crazy. In the end he somehow convinces you to pick up the check. In fact, you'd be glad to do it. bastard.

Overall a "Friend of the Devil " sort of vibe.

i4OH7mPH_o.jpg

It's badass, handsome, and a little bit evil. Is this you? Heavy black leather front and back, and heavenly padded... it's the Well-Hung way.
3" wide, goes 43"-59" long. This one is going to jump out in any strap collection. On the right guitar? Killer!

oWwZ5jpO_o.jpg

One of my more gothy sexier straps, right now, if that's what you need.

This weekend I got to open up a fun package from a TGP brother, whom I've set up with a few of my own fun products

aAyu5GvW_o.jpg

Looking at these beautiful castings got my wife interested in how they were made. I'm wondering if you ever thought of picking up some of knob inserts?
With a drill press a person could easily make these skulls into fun custom guitar knobs. Not sure if I will, but they are fun! Over a dozen skulls in various resin colours, sparkly, transparent, even a glow in the dark one. Also a pyramid with I think local sand from his area... and a naughty shotglass, which I have not yet used, but soon enough!

But the piece-de-resistance is the small coffin in black resin that I know he took several kicks at the can to make. About 6" long total, it's super black thick shiny black resin and quite convincing. It's going to make a pretty cool pick box in my rehearsal space, to replace an small cigar box. Also there was one larger skull in the package in a translucent blue with some beach sand in it too.

New to the Well-Hung shop, I restocked a couple more new "The Gentlemen" straps that sold off over the last few months. The last two that will ever be made are now in the store.

Here's a pic that came in from Vito, a Well-Hung warrior/brother AKA Barbarian Robert

YzlKdr0o_o.jpg

This King-V is in serious danger of getting constricted by Murk Snake! "This is the 11th strap I’ve purchased from Brad and every strap has been better than the last. Super comfortable, excellent workmanship, stylish and most importantly cheezies!!!" - Vito B.
Thank you Vito, may it help you in your "Metal to the Core" journey

New in the Well-Hung Reverb store today is "El Vato" with the Southwest flavour,

Zw47jgZH_o.jpg

And, I guess you could say "Rattler" could also be southwest flavoured too! The last few rattlesnake patterns I've tried turned out a little dark, so I'm trying to get a lighter feel. This time, should have went a bit less heavy on the diamondback pattern, but I'm slowly gaining ground on the right balance, between background and pattern. Pretty soon I'm going to be ready to try to do this on some real leather with the the snake scale emboss in it, but this one is priced to move. Still very robust, comfy etc, but the pattern is a bit poop, I get that.

7pdxiEHu_o.jpg

I took a chance and dropped a nice bit of coin on what was obviously a vintage 60's- 70's handmade ladies vest recently. No tags for size or maker, and what looked like months of hand stitched embroidery. Even the indigo background the pattern is on was hand-stitched, from as far as I can tell.

Calling the three I was able to make "East Village" in homage to the arty boho NY scene of the late 60's and 70's, one of them is shorter made for a smaller person, but the are all three inches wide, and nicely padded.

woXaZtUq_o.jpg

I fully realize a strap like this not for everyone, might even bring back a few memories for some old-timers here LOL! I tried to be faithful to the time, using up some very old vintage vinyl I had here too, but strongly reinforced with heavy leather underneath.

cI8yMr2E_o.jpg

Looking for a genuine vintage vibe, but with the ultimate in modern comfort, security and construction, this is going to really steal the show for any strap collector / connoisseur out there! "East Village" will instantly make any strap stable much more interesting and will be a practical and useful conversation piece for many years ahead.

Okh2vSPX_o.jpg

Today a fresh new "Star Power" edition!

the Well-Hung Star Power series is build specifically for those who want to throw sparks onstage, elevate themselves in a "show biz" kind of way. Look the part as an entertainer. That said, it's gonna look pretty silly to wear this on your nasty Mastodon Tee with your camo cargo shorts, but there is a time and place for everything.

Two at 2-3/4 and shorter overall length for ladies, and two a bit longer going as far as about 58" at 3" wide.

w4SA1mg7_o.jpg

Here you have a combination of coppery, gold and red sparkles, on a super comfy black base.

H3XjTsjB_o.jpg

Harder to get a decent photo of the sparkle action, and how all the actual colour reads, but if you throw it out of focus you begin to get the idea of the actual look under lights. Just understand the sparkles move and dance when the strap is under any kind of motion at all.

V3bkGMPK_o.jpg

Just took a few pics these will be up on reverb available tomorrow sometime.

I really like these Brad. Don’t really have a guitar that would do them justice…. Unfortunately.

New today, a couple I call "Checked Out." Yeah, you guys know the feeling, right?
Like you've been visually violated by some randy hussie. They have NO SHAME!

It's an obvious choice for many of those ambery/tobacco-ish vintage bursts, or natural
finished guitars. Has a little bit of spring to it! The tan checks on the top of the strap are
in a suedey feel. Pretty cool

VQdQfUtL_o.jpg

3" wide, heavy leather ends front and back. Grippy black velvet lining. goes to about 56" max
Of course, carefully built inside the body is my special carved foam that is pretty much guaranteed to put a dreamy grin on your face.
And not just one time either! Quoth the Raven: "Forevermore!"

cXg4OAOL_o.jpg

Murk Beast got a nice review: " Fantastic hhttps://images2.imgbox.com/ad/3d/VQdQfUtL_o.jpgand made guitar strap, my second from this shop as my first has served me well now for a year and has proven to be durable, stylish & very comfortable. This new strap looks so awesome in person and also feels super comfy as well. Brad shipped same day and answered my questions quickly! Highly Recommend, no affiliation, just satisfied!" - Rich in Arizona

New in the shop are "Feelin' Randy" a new addition to the Snakes in my Brain series.

lmUAZg9Y_o.jpg

Also a new addition the 1969 Series, with "In the Year 2525" - which includes a silky iridescent silver black and grey paisley material on black leather.

7UPkPkpt_o.jpg

Also completed a couple new "1969 - Time of the Season" this might be my third most popular strap, and one of few that I have build more than ten of at this point. I don't like to repeat stuff, but this one is such a steady mover, I'll build it until I run out of this super groovy metallic embroidered paisley material. One of my more beautiful straps, so it's popular for very good reason.

cKdRKewt_o.jpg

Reverb review from Big EZ on his recent grab of a Stage King guitar strap. "Let me tell you what, these are without doubt the best straps on Reverb. This is my Second Well-Hung Strap the top level craftsmanship is what brought me back. My first one is 3+ year's old and is still very secure to standard strap buttons. So if you're looking for a one of a kind strap with character, toughness and comfort Well-Hung has it in Spades."

qHMggwTW_o.jpg

Also Jack in TO, a Well-Hung Warrior/Elder LOL! Picked up more Pro-Pins.. must be some NGDs happening out Toronto way! Actually, been quite a run on these lately,
sent one guy in Venice California 24 pairs in the past week.

"Excellent as usual. Won't use any other strap buttons than Well-Hung Pro-Pins! Brad knows how to make 'em! Thanks again for keeping me comfortably-hung" -Jack in Toronto

New in the store today, a couple of "Cobra Chai" floating pad straps. Don't make these too often, but I believe I make the very best version of this strap, full stop. Wider pad, much more padding. And that pad won't be slip-slip-slipping all over the place. Good and long. flashy, but in a low profile way too.

j700VXvu_o.jpg

Beautifully unique bronzy metallic snake scale pattern on black suede. Note how I have loops going THROUGH the pad, not just on top.
Looks much cleaner, and keeps the strap from sliding all over the place. Goes 44"-58

Fun photo / blast from the past came in on F-book "Web" on an super dangerous looking black Ibby Xyphos

BDtTM0Hd_o.jpg

This strap creation was kind of "out there" artistically and ended up sitting in the Well-Hung Reverb shop for quite a long time.
The owner who took kind of a big a chance on this strap and a year later remains absolutely delighted, which delights me also.
Happy Friday!

Today, flannel day! Found some vintagey looking plaid that firmly reminded me of 1992 and that whole grunge invasion thing that happened back in the day. Didn't affect me much, I had already moved on to the Manchester scene stuff, and was dabbling in acid jazz at the time, but really, you couldn't help but take notice. It really was something else when that wave hit.

mZNTj0rh_o.jpg

A nicely worn-in and soft plaid in olive green and black, "Smells Like Nostalgia" is in my typical design, with heavy black leather ends,
and heavily padded with velvety interior lining in black.

q4dv3mk4_o.jpg

Has a bit of spring to it too! Goes 44"-59" which is plenty long for most rockers! Now in the Well-Hung store,
or will deal direct if you feel Reverb is out to getcha!
