What kind of problems have you seen with the bad ones?
I had an Ibanez A400 artwood (or some similar name/number) left handed acoustic for around $300, and it was amazing - very very good in every way; miles better than the wife's Yamaha at similar money; the tone was just a rainbow of sound - the mahogany back and sides with solid spruce top worked perfectly together.
I had a lefthanded Ibanez gio superstrat which was the only lefthanded guitar for sale in Oman, so I had to buy it, and it had many faults: switches, frets, neck humbucker, the trem was terrible (that's just a design element rather than a faulty item), the nut was cut badly...

e it was.
The wife had a nice looking Ibanez uke which was virtually unplayable due to the badly located bridge.
I had an Ibanez bass which was good, but the pickups and amp were Bartolini licensed stuff which was not very good quality - the bass itself was very good. The bridge was known to ware badly and need replacing after 6 months or so on these too; well finished though.
Thus, even trying to take care, 50% have still been wrong 'uns.
The one PRS I had came with a badly cut nut which is very un-PRS, so it does happen to every manufacturer, but Ibanez seem to be an unusual case, either very average/poor or exceptionally good.
