New fun, practical tool day

When I visited my friend in Minneapolis a couple of weeks ago, we were hanging out in his basement shop. I noticed this contraption, and asked what it's for. It's a "Little Joe" PC Board holder. It is really slick, and thought it would be good to have for an upcoming project, and any other stuff. When I got home, I found one on ebay with a low "buy it now" price. Got it now, and really can't wait to use it. Just playing with it after it arrived, it felt like it would be real comfy to use. I've never seen one before. Does anyone else have something like this?

Not nearly as cool as Little Joe, but performs a similar task…I got this for pedal work, not amp work…but it’s functional.

I got one of these too. It’s super handy but I keep forgetting that I have one! Twice now, I have finished a couple circuit board projects without using my circuit board vise/holder, only to rediscover it after I’m done with populating and soldering the circuit board… :BH: :BH: Can’t remember where I got it from, but it wasn’t from Stewmac.

I hear you there…I had to find a storage place for it that I couldn’t hep but move it to get at the usual stuff for these projects.

"Little Joe" is my old weed guy lol
...before I was able to simply walk into the store for it, that is...lol

Famous in these parts for always saying "I'll be there in like, 20 minutes" and then finally coming by a couple days later

@SG John's Little Joe looks much more reliable than mine was

I was gonna say….I paid less than $10 for it a couple of years ago. Glad you found one cheap.

edit: holy smokes! I’ve had that since 2018! And yes, it was less than $10….but not much.
It didn't look like $30 worth of made in China to me. But then, Amazon is not always a bargain.

I just wanted to find the model…didn’t look at the price….half of the time they recommend a cheaper one on the same page. I saw one for around $17, and another for around $12, with a quick search. I know you won’t buy from Amazon, so I didn’t think to shop for a bargain…just to give you a good look so you could find it at a place you were comfortable with.

Now I remember! I got mine last year from Mouser for $17.75.

The more elite brand of hobby vises and circuit board holders is Panavise. All kinds of cool stuff from them, but with an elite price too!

That looks a lot less fiddly! I do like the base on mine, but those Panavise units have plenty of weight to make up for it. Solid stuff!
