Science is a long time fancy I guess I would call it.
I happened upon a article that talks about the next Einstein and at first I scoffed but by further reading I can not help but be astonished.

This young lady, yes lady could be one of the brightest young minds.
She built her own plane at age 13 but that is hardly half of what she has done.
MIT graduate. She is a Nasa intern and has some papers written that have been read by Stephen Hawking.

Not only a post-grad graduate of MIT, she got her PhD at Harvard. There is quite a bit of good material out there to read about her. If you have daughters or granddaughters, have them look up to her and stick with science and math. Don't let peer pressure push them away.

I stuck to science and math!
…. And look at me now!!

Ok. Maybe I’m not the best example of a role model :sneaky:

You are a great man, sir.

Don't let the system as a whole that has designed our platform for self-stupidity for their own benefit lead them either.

I lived and breathed math for a portion of my life. This was until I got older and developed my Who Gives a F attitude. I've found great solace in the new me.

Weird, I read a article that was from 3 years ago and she had not yet graduated from Harvard. She definitely has credentials at young age.
My grandson is pretty sharp. I hope he uses his ability.

Same here, degree in Math (and another in computer science). Never got paid to solve an integral or a differential equation in my professional career :run: .
Lol. First, very impressive degrees. I got a programming job during school that paid good and it conflicted with school ...travel and all. I had to quit school as a result. 23 years in programming now so I'm not too worried about it other than I really wanted that math degree. :BH:

The most I've done with programming is trig with some angles and the unit circle + some formulas along the way. A good deal of algebra though. I think about the only way you'd solve integrals in derivatives is to write a Calculus calculator for someone. Then again, you'd probably just add a Calculus library to your project. Lol

You are way over my head in math but isn't Quantum Physics next level?

There is a great PSA on WMBR, which is MIT's radio station. It starts with a young girl asking her dad a question.

Girl: Daddy, why is the sky blue?

Dad: To match your pretty blue eyes.

Girl: Not even close! Sunlight reaches Earth's atmosphere and is scattered in all directions by all the gases and particles in the air. Blue light is scattered more than the other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see a blue sky most of the time.

Dad: Who taught you that?

Girl: Mommy.

Girl: Do you know why the concept of odd and even is a paradoxical illusion?

Dad: Please, you tell me.

Then it goes on to say how girls lose there interest in math and science by the time they're eight or nine, and it's up to us to keep their interests alive.

It's a really good PSA, and some of the best I ever heard have been on that station. But then, it is MIT.

When I was still working as a machinist, I could easily do trig and algebra with a paper and pencil. No calculator. Now, I can barely do basic multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction without writing it down first.

Kinda, yea. Physics is applied mathematics and a different subject that, yes, requires the math first.
Right, math major before Quantum Phisics. That's on my long list of things I will never do. Lol
I wish I had the motivation just to do what you had wanted sadly I don't have the skills.

Then there's a bunch of physics types, quantum being one. Nuclear, Acoustics, etc. It's not learn one get one free either sadly. Lol.
