Spector--no not Sp8ctre......

I highly trust my friend Eric's ears, fingers and years of playing experience. If he plays a Spector day in and day out, that gives me a clear enough message of the quality of Stuart's instruments.

Also, not Spector but Schecter. Once when I used to own my Schecter Model T Robert Deleo bass with EMG P and J pups, I took it to one of Eric's gigs with Deanna. When I asked him to check it out, he said it was a beautiful bass and then warned me if he tried it during the show, he has a tendency to sweat. I said no problem bro, I can always wash that off. Well, I was flabbergasted as Eric played it for the entire show. I truly regret selling it, but also felt good when about a year after doing so, I asked the new owner how he liked it. His answer was, " I just recorded a CD with it if that answers your question."

Rock on Indeed.

Awesome!

Yes there is a whole world beyond Gibson & Fender when it comes to stringed instruments.

While I only have 1 Schecter (Sch8ctre) it is a great instrument that plays like buttah, looks fantastic & truly sounds awesome!.

Interesting to note is the Ultra III's neck - body construction's similarity to the original Firebird! If you look closely you can see the lower height wings on the top & bottom.

I bought this because it reminded me of my childhood guitar which was an Airline Reso-Body 3 pickup gtr with a non-functional Bigsby.

While I played that guitar until the frets started to actually loosen up & make it unplayable, I always loved that silly lookin thing!
Unfortunately or not, I bought that Schecter before Eastwood started to make a quasi sort of re-issue (below) ala the Eastwood Airli 59 Custom 3 pickup model.

I still fancy the idea of getting both an original Airline George Jetson model ($2500-$3500) & a more achievable Eastwood re-issue model and always find myself checking for a deal whenever the topic comes up, like now!

Gotta go, ebay is callin!.

Why? I'm missing anything mentioned so far having a connection with this video.
WTF did I miss? And what is the connection Rob?

No connection. That's how my mind works...I was also about at the bottom of a quart of Scotch when I posted that....

Airlines are cool. This is Airline I'd like to have:

That is the more sensible version Smitbro, and it has 22 frets instead of frik'n 20! LOL Ya, go back & count 'em! OK, I'll re-post it here...

That is part of the reason there is so much space between those 3 pups! Man, I miss the sound of that neck pup way up there right under where the 22nd & 24th frets would be! Schweet.

I like your fav too. If I wasn't looking for a lost piece of my youth I wouldn't even consider that 59 Custom 3 pup just because it only has 20 frets! I mean WTF huh?

And I bitch about the knob on a Stratocaster getting in my way...........GEESH!

Dooode! That was one of the coolest things about this guitar!
Think about the repeated problems & complaints people who buy 3 pup guitars have about wiring their guitar to get the most out of those 3 pups. With a typical Gibson 3 pup with a 3 way selector switch & 4 knobs to work with there always has to be some sort of compromise with selection configuration & each pup getting it's own volume & or tone control!
BAAM!
This crazy look'n bitch solves dat $#iT !!!

Why just having a Volume & Tone for each pup gives you more than good ol Gibby ever did on a 3 pup set-up.
OK I don't 100% remember how the selector switch worked on the original but seem to recall it worked like a Fender 'Bucket Switch' (3 way switch with combined tones in between) & there was an 'All On' position (Center I think, maybe not LOL) that gave uber tonal variation due to all those crazy a$$ Vol & Tone knobs & that one big-azz Volume knob.

The original really was not a well made guitar. It was a bolt-on neck fastened to a seriously hollow fiberglass body with flimsy pieces of wood running from neck to trem that didn't seem adequate to support the string tension.

Here, have a look at the insides of an oldie....
