NPD Morpheus Drop Tune

So a few weeks ago, I had posted a thread considering getting another guitar. Clockworkmike had suggested a drop tube pedal. I thought about it for a bit and decided that’s actually a pretty good idea, I forgot those even existed.

So I tried ordering a digitech drop from zzounds using the pay as you play… well due to my circumstances all I have is cash app and… well… I didn’t even think about it being a prepaid card.

Next day I get an email from zzounds essentially saying they don’t let you use prepaid cards for pay as you play, understandable but still a bummer.

I logged back onto here and saw clockworkmike had reached out to me offering to give me his Morpheus drop tune. I was and am very grateful. I gave him my shipping info and today it just arrived. I’m not going to be able to play with it until later but I’m excited to plug it in and try my Richie Faulkner V through it!

I’ll update when I get a chance to play with it.

Glad the US postal service managed to get it right lol hope you enjoy it!!

He should still find it an amazing pedal.
I know @Ramo used one
Lol I was only partially joking, sorry bud. No, I honestly hadn't used it in so long I had actually forgotten about it until the topic came up. Had been collecting dust on top of one of my amps for years now. They're really cool pedals and can convincingly detune your signal to where you can't tell it apart from actually detuning.

My only problem was I just kinda forgot about it lol I don't change tunings much on guitars other than dropping the E. I keep the Explorer tuned 1/2 step down typically, the G&L is mostly standard and the SG is often 1/2 or 1 step down. So the pedal while cool, just wasn't something I needed. Figured if it helped someone else out, it'd be better than wasting away here.

Which reminds me: need any items my friend? Lol

Thanks for the offer buddy, but I just use minimal fx these days.

But I have been gifted a couple of items by members here.
@steveb63
And @Cadorman
That I have put to great use.

HA! I always get a bit nervous about that. I once odered something work related and it got delivered at the house at the corner of my street, luckily i knew them and they brought it to me.

But this pedal is going to get a lot of use. Been wanting to do more drop C stuff, been curious actually how my favorite EMG pickups (57-66) Sound in drop C, then once I get my 7 string back i had plans on drop tuning that (it also has a floyd rose). Clockwork saved me a ton of headache and pretty much covered all possible grounds of where i'd want to tune.

Plus the band i may of found myself in (starting to have second thoughts...mainly because they can't really decide amongst themselves what direction to go...or simple stuff with tuning and tempo on songs they already wrote. its humerous but also a bit discerning) the singer likes to dabble in a bunch of other tunings so other than my own stuff, it may even see some stage use.

Fantastic bro

Haven’t forgotten to update on this, baby has kept me busy. I just barely had time to lay down bass track on my song, and when I did go to plug it in… no sound, but no worries. It’s one of my cables. I took one cable plugged straight into my vox amp, I receive tone. Took the other cable, plugged into same amp, I receive silence… yup, completely dead cable… so… that’s a trip to guitar center I need to find time to make… it’s ok, I need to get a mic pop filter anyways…

Ok, was finally able to run over to guitar center and pick up a new cable (also got the Hetfield White Fane picks) got home, plugged the pedal in, plugged my epiphone V in and spent two hours just playing on it, from slow chugs to some of my fast runs and even did what little sweep picking i could.

Its freaking awesome! I A/B'd the tone and yea...honestly you really can't tell. Works great for low lit and dark stages because the foot switches has light up lettering over them that tells you its on then the other button is a toggle, basically a kill switch so you can switch it on and off without losing your pedal in the dark. it remembers where you last left it. turn it off, unplug it, plug it back in, turn it on it will go right back to where you left it last. I havn't noticed any hickups, even turned my effects off and it works outstandingly well. this is just what i needed for my own projects. Once again, Thank you so much Clockworkmike!
