Best Singer? Best Front-man?

We know these two are not always shared attributes by any means. Who has what attribute that is great and just who might have both that is great??

This is strictly in the category of Rock/Metal.

Please don't include me either - I'm staying out of this one. :rolf:

Ok, mine ...

Front-man: Vince Neil
Singer: W. Axl Rose

After you list yours, drag-highlight the next lines to see if you landed the secret singer! Please do not check before or use them if seen here first.

:fingersx:
Paul Stanley!

Robert Plant
Look at that! More food for thought!
I was in a metal malaise….
Anyone remember the leaked Queen multitracks, from years ago?….that was an eye opening listening experience!
I’ve seen Plant enough to know he’s something special as a performer.
Gonna kick back, and let others remind me of all the really good stuff…

Can of worms with the classics.
Most of the ones I put on a pedestal have already been mentioned.

Sometimes I take to account more than just range from low to high but that does make a lot of the impact.

Freddie was great but after night at the Opera, I was done.
Despite his operatic ability they do not fit in my musical taste as well as others.

For thrash, Hetfield had his day as well as Mustaine. They don't win the Don Dokken award for a golden voice but get the job done on the heavy!

Frontman:
David Lee Roth wins, with Freddie Mercury and Bon Scott sharing second place.

Singer:
Lots of great ones, but Paul Rodgers might be my favorite voice of all time.
Freddie Mercury pretty mucv had it all.
DLR was great in the studio, and in the early VH days he was pretty decent live as well.

That's an almost impossible question to answer because I could easily name at least 5 guys right off the bat from different fields without even thinking about it. When we say frontman, I'm looking at that as an entertainer who's giving you a show.

Best naturally gifted singer in general:
Geoff Tate, no one had that level of range ever in nearly any genre of music.

Best classic rock singer:
Paul Rodgers, pure soul and power. The definition of what a rock singer should be.

Best classic rock frontman:
Bon Scott, the gold standard of what a street level badass is

Best metal and frontman:
Bruce Dickinson, operatic vocals with a ton of energy. Can work the audience into a frenzy and shatter the ceiling at the same time

Most unique and identifiable singer/frontman:
Ozzy Osbourne, the godfather of metal itself with vocals you know the second he opens his mouth as well as the legendary stage antics.

Excellant!

Back in the day I was all about:
Klaus
Dickenson
Halford

I was just not hearing anything else.
Dio was good but back then for some reason I never really got to much in to him. All though lately I have listen a lot more especially to Holy Diver.

I loved Heaven and Hell but Ozzy up until that album he would be the one to me ,up until the break up.

There is Ian Anderson, David Byron, John Anderson. Byron :
