I'm a believer.

This thread is all over the place but I'm chiming in with my own DC love... best form factor of all, IMHO

...And my extreme distaste for strap locking gadgets. I had the disintegrating ball bearing syndrome happen to me once. Recall it clear as day as I was trying to learn the Baker Street solo with my #1 LP, suddenly my neck is just free falling in the air... my hand never left the neck but I had such a chill go through my body I said never again. I then went on a year long journey to try to invent a better solution ending up at the simplest, cheapest solution.
A new design strap button. Call it a jumbo/oversize... it's even bigger than all other jumbos by a bit.

They have a deeper spool, a rounded outside bell that doesn't cut your strap hole.
and a big-ass screw. I'll sell to almost anyone even Dunlop or Schaller people who finally figure things out.

That's cool! Is that a Wenge body?
Don't really know could be or Limba? Sort of mahogany-ish but I used a wire brush on it to accent that grain a lot before painting, then grain filled with a gold sparkle powder concoction I formulated... sort of along the lines of the old style TV yellow limed finish... maybe you can tell? I'm not really up on my wood ID

Are we talking about the same guitar, the brown one? It looks like Wenge, but if that's what it looked like raw then it's not. Cool looking guitar either way.

First Gibson I ever played, let alone touched was when my dad got a Wine Red with Gold Studio back in 1995 at Concert Music World. I was 12 and I remembered be almost scared to even hold one because to me, it just LOOKED expensive lol ( remember, I was playing a Mexican Tele). Still a phenomenal sounding guitar with tons of beef.

I had an uncle who bought a Les Paul Standard Sunburst the next year and to be honest, dad's Studio always sounded better than it did for whatever reason that was. Same pickups even

I really wanted one of those P-90 Studios, have never found the right one. If P-90s are your thing they are super cool.
I paid $650 each for both of these on close out. Wish they still did those closeout sales.

I actually used Virtuoso oil on the black 60's and it turned out great, don't have the before & after anymore.

My favorite strap locks of all time, are still the leather ones you could get in the late seventies and early eighties. Then they disappeared. That was a shame, because they were perfect for SGs, Firebirds, and any guitar with the strap button on the back of the body. They were almost flush, and would never get caught on your shirt or belt. And, as a bonus... if you are tall like me, you could use two and add about three inches to the length of the strap.

I was so psyched to see Brad making them again, and bought a few when I bought my Ace of Spades strap.

I was waiting for the GOT to be over to place an order for a couple pair….hoping to see a strap that I can’t say “no” to, and can afford…for 4 SGs and a V.
