Master Volume Mod... What does this one do?

I've seen the following mod in other layouts, but I've never tried it, nor do I understand what it's supposed to do. In a stock 2203 or 2204 circuit, there is only a jumper wire between the Treble pot and MV pot. Not sure what that 220k resistor adds to the party... :confused2:

I read that it's supposedly to make the master volume more gradual and it makes the amp brighter as the master volume is turned down. True or not? No idea

This morning I woke up obsessed for more info on this particular MV circuit. Looks like it's supposed to make the change in volume more gradual as you have said. But it might reduce the brightness instead of the making the amp brighter... Not sure on this yet! Info is hard to find.

I also found some nice info on the MV circuit of a Friedman BE-100. Seems like a lot of Friedman owners love this amps MV. It's very similar to what I posted. It adds a 1 meg resistor to ground. What the Hell does this do?

Should be very easy to try though, and see if there's any magic mojo. I'm going to try it like this:

I know that there's got to be some more Kats around here that know what's going on... ?
