My Dangerous Rides...

My most dangerous bikes were a couple of 125 dirt bikes. One trail and one motocross. Been over the bars. Been off the back. Even one time was flying thru the air, still holding the twist grips….. only I was beside the bike. Oh yeah. And all at speed.

Never had anything like the two photos. Had I, there’d be no doubt I would have hurt myself.

Edit: I did figure out early on when crashing… get rid of the bike. They may not have been very heavy, but damage could be done if you get tangled up trying to “save” it. Just push the bike the opposite direction you’re falling.

Started out riding bikes at age 10, first was a Honda 50 stepthrough, started out dirt riding with it, I used to beat the thing to death, been over the bars lying in a ditch, lucky had a few bruises and some cuts nothing serious. I hill climbed with that bike wound out in first gear, you wouldn't believe the hill I climbed with that little beast.

Moved up to street models as i got to driving age, a couple of 175 Hondas new . Then started doing some mud runs with the guys I bought my bikes from. We used to work on the bikes in the shop to get them ready for Saturdays, it was a blast.

Drove on the streets with my buddies , then got into cars. When I got married I picked up a Yamaha RD 350B man that baby had guts. It was incredibly fast in its class! I could kick but on 500cc class 4 stroke bikes in quart mile..

Don't have any pictures of my past bikes, I have a couple pictures of myself with my Yammy.. The second one the bike stored for winter in my

basement.

In my teens I learned that I should stay away from street bikes of all sorts..
I didn’t crash, but the stupid crap I did on them would have led to a major problem.

So I stayed in the dirt.

This would have been just before the financial crash of 08.
When I could still afford to take the local kids out to the hills and ride.

I did have a Honda 550 for awhile in the 70s into early 80s. It was our 2nd car and it got rode 2 miles to work daily 8-9 months out of the year. Had to draw the line once roads got snowy and icy. There were some mornings it was freeze your you know what’s cold…. But it got me there and back.

I was a really good bike rider. I know how to use any type of motorcycle, MX, enduro, trial, street. I did many grazy things with a bike. I never broke a bone. But one day on the road a car committed a traffic violation and hit me from the side. I broke many bones. You can see the photo in my avatar with the 18 screws and fittings that I have in the 9 vertebrae of my broken back. It's a miracle that I can walk again. Maybe one day I will be able to ride again. But at less I can play my guitars.

I disppeared because my Astoria Custom. I was really pissed off. You know I love my amps they are my babies. I bought It brand new in England. 3 year warranty. Then brexit. It fails. I sent It to England. Marshall fixed It. An smoth cap shorted. Thanks DHL and guitarguitar was a really expensive nightmare to get It back. Fines, taxes, etc.. Still the nightmare persist. It failed again. Power transformer broken. I use it like my other Marshalls. The worst reliable amp I ever had. Now It needs a 330mA fuse on LT wiring because some problem on the Boost/FXloop funcion. It would need a 315mA fuse. Etc..... If Tomorrow it works it's a gift. Who knows. But It sounds so good.

Oh boy, do I get that. Came way closer to getting hurt on my street bike than I ever did riding in the dirt. Even motocross with several other idiots trying to go two wide thru the first turn.

On the street I nearly t-boned a couple different vehicles. One my fault, the other wasn’t.

Street I don’t miss. Would still have a blast in the dirt…. Just not sure this old man’s body would hold up anymore.

I can completely understand that old man’s body part,, lol
I still have lingering issues from the dirt.
And I quit in 2010..

Ewwwwh, that looks painful, I've had one spill, slid on some gravel. Sprained my ankle when bike slid out from under, luckily that's it, knock on wood...My dad on the other hand has wrecked every bike he's had, I think....
