So far, I've been okay. I'm currently operating under the premise that my library is so small (only 1.54% of my allotted space) that I'm not attracting attention, yet. Of course, I may be completely mistaken in this assumption.

I'm actually considering starting my own personal image hosting site via Go-Daddy, or some other domain registering service, so that I'm not subject to any of these sorts of issues. Of course, I'd have to pay an annual fee for my own domain, but it would be much less than Photobucket and I'd have control of my own content.

All my pics are off my computer. I knew no other way to get them to Photobucket anyway.
And if certain forums didn't work best for loading pics on them with Photophucket,,,,, I would have just done em straight from puter anyway and not needed PB.

I have a correction to make to my post above.

I read the ToS at Photobucket a little more closely. The Plus 300 package allows image linking, but NOT 3rd party hosting for $99.99 per year. The Plus 500 package allows BOTH image linking and 3rd party hosting for $399.99 per year.

To be totally honest, I'm not quite sure if the method we use here to display images is technically more correctly defined as Image Linking or 3rd Party Hosting. My initial thought would be that it is Image Linking, but I can't find how Photobucket defines it.

Still, $100.00 is a lot to pay to show pictures.
 
Y'all are welcome to start loading up your images here before you lose them to photo phuquit. All image hosting here is included free with membership. Be forewarned that Alex has blocked linking to this site so you will not be able to post any pics hosted here on any of Alex's sites. That's on him, not on us.

It's not so much a failure as it is more of a change Photobucket has made to their business model and policies. These changes are having negative repercussions in myriad forums and other websites where people have linked to images on Photobucket or are using Photobucket as an image host.

But, your choice of the word "failure" may not be far off the mark. In the end, this may prove to be an epic fail on Photobucket's part!

There is no limit to the amount of pictures, but there is a limit to the file size so as not to over burden the server. Unless you are a graphic designer that needs to host 300 DPI hi-res images, you should be fine.
