Why i love the desert so much. When its gray, wet and gloomy here...i can drive less than an hour and see the sun.

He's only about 15 minutes from us....

None yet, the snow level is around 6500 ft. We are at 5600 ft. It is suppose to get colder later so we might see a little dusting later today.

All of California needs more than five years of above average rainfall and snowfall to replenish the aquifers, lakes, and its decrepit reservoirs systems. What us Californians have seen so far this rainy season is just a drop in the bucket towards having plentiful water available.

We have a nice Davis weather station. It has only registered about 1.8 inches so far this year. This storm is mostly wind and clouds, not much downpour.

If you guys are in Southern Cali then look to whats happening in Colorado and Wyoming. You need big amounts of snow pack in the rockies.

Yep, the whole Southwest needs mucho rain. Poor Lake Mead is looking pretty sad.

I was at lake mead about 4 years ago and I couldnt believe how low it was. Thats the first time I saw it since '08. The first time I went there back in 99 it looked like the water was going to crest the dam.

We were there in 07 and it was down some then. It’s really bad now. These are from 07.
