Who has them and what is it that you want to do to better yourself?

Before the 2020 close down I was a gym rat. I have fallen way out of my routine since then and I want to get back into it. I joined a gym last month and have been slowly getting ready for the after holiday push to get back to my regular routine.

It's been longer than that for me.
I have to get back to it.
I did get a print out for the gym.
Work pays for it.

I never have made resolutions in my life. If I need to start doing something or stop doing something or anything for that matter I just do it, I don't wait for some arbitrary date to do anything. Even the way we celebrate that arbitrary marker of time seems strange to me. Its just another day out of 365 and you could choose any one of them to mark another trip around The Sun.

You can thank Caesar for the January 1st New Year and the Julian calendar.

Here is a little bit a trivia I just looked up. Now you know the origins of the "new year resolution"

"The ancient Babylonians are said to have been the first people to make New Year’s resolutions, some 4,000 years ago. They were also the first to hold recorded celebrations in honor of the new year—though for them the year began not in January but in mid-March, when the crops were planted. During a massive 12-day religious festival known as Akitu, the Babylonians crowned a new king or reaffirmed their loyalty to the reigning king. They also made promises to the gods to pay their debts and return any objects they had borrowed. These promises could be considered the forerunners of our New Year’s resolutions. If the Babylonians kept to their word, their (pagan) gods would bestow favor on them for the coming year. If not, they would fall out of the gods’ favor"
