Well just finished a 2hour workout on the Blackstar Debut 15E. Where do I start, this is a real Gem of a small in size but surprising amp. I just have to say I am blown away at the versatility of this amp!
The highs are clear, the clean channel is bright not to bright, lots of room in the mid range, the gain has lots of room to move around, then add in ISF, so many variations in the mix. Go from American tones to British tones with no issues at all.
The delay is really well thought out , go from minor to major delay. You can get mild to major dirty with gain, if you want massive dirty just hit the Overdrive button you will get there.
The Mp3 jack works well and music comes through with very good sound. The headphone jack is adequate in sound coming to the phones and sounds good, I have to admit phones sound better through my Orange 35RT.
I just can't believe the tones that come from those two 3" stereo speakers, its so good!
And the beast will crank up as well, it can get very loud for its size and still has very good sound.
Its beautiful to look at with the cream covering that looks like leather, and the rust colored mesh cover matches well.
The build is solid weighs in at 11 LBS. the pots for the dials are really well made very smooth and controlled.
Am I happy, 100% YES! the quality and the tones are super! It looks great and is Impressive for such a small practice amp.
I can't believe the price at a mere $159.00 CDN. With taxes and shipping to my door, from half way around the other side of the country for $203.34CDN. Well worth the money for a small package with big sound.
My rating of this amp four and three quarter stars out of five, just because of the headphone tone.
