Well if you are thinking you would like a Custom build, no need to go to those high cost name brands to get one. Do your research start looking for a good Luthier who does custom builds without breaking your bank account.

Some think you need to pay thousands and thousands of dollars to purchase one, that's a myth.

After a couple of months of researching on the internet, and sending out e-mails and phone calls to these businesses, I finally found Legend Guitars, in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, Canada . A Luthier and guitar player Zane O'Brian.

I was very interested in our talks on e-mails, plus the work i seen on his website. So i decided to make a phone call to him, after that conversation with him I was Impressed! Well a deal was struck and we went ahead with the build. Everything was set in motion with hardware, neck , body design, color's etc. He was informative through the whole process.

I talked with a few referrals he gave me from two guy's he had built Tele's for, I gave them a call, both of them raved over the quality of their guitars, and told me that I would not be disappointed. Well they were absolutely correct!

And I didn't have to pay thousands and thousands of dollars to get it made.

He personally built the guitar from start to finish. Its a true Custom build , done by the man himself Zane O'Brian..

When I received the guitar I was completely blown away! It is the best guitar I own , And I frequently play guitars at my local shop on a regular basis and have yet to find any guitar that plays as well as this one does.

So cool! You made out well with that beauty!
If I ever got one made I would likely hit up Sheldon Dingwall here who makes amazing fan fret basses,
Dingwall guitars.
We used to process his photos at the store. We would chat about guitars. Great guy.

Example.

She looks like a sister build to my Fender. But I’m sure the quality on yours is much better.

I remember when you got that Norm. Made a bunch of us pretty envious.

There are many great guitar and amp builders out there. Since many are well established, and know what they're doing and how to turn around a job in a fairly quick amount of time, they can offer good value. You don't need to go with Gibson/Fender/ Rickenbacker or some of the other big brands.

Great guitars from Bangor, ME.

And for those who want the Custom Shop in their own home, Warmoth makes high quality bodies and necks. If ya can do some DYI projects, assembling a guitars from parts is not that difficult.

I’ve already checked out the Legend Custom Guitars website. $2000 including a case?

I knew you would Greg, you have your answer..no case. That's why I put the name there, now order a guitar...:)

58 Gibson Les Paul Special Reproduction in TV Yellow

$1,595.00
This is a reproduction of a 1958 TV yellow, Gibson Les Paul Special. It has two “Razor” P 90’s which sound great and give a very nice vintage sound. It has two volumes and two tone controls and a 3 way switch. The body and neck are mahogany, rosewood fingerboard and pearloid block position markers on a bound set neck. The neck radius is 12″. Original’s like this reproduction are becoming very hard to come by and very expensive. This guitar provides a great alternative at a great price.
