Ya ever had this happen?

So I was parusing the Portland CL and see a speaker I may want. So I respond to the ad via email and we set up that we can meet, he sends his phone number to text or call him when I can swing by. So I give him a text and he calls me back and he has my number in his phone as I did some work on his house like 10 years ago. I would not have been as surprised if it was someone I knew through playing or jamming but to have it be an old customer I thought was pretty unusual.
Anyway so I will pick up the speaker tomorrow and get to see the house I plumbed. NSD (I can’t seem to stop buying speakers) but that’s another topic.

Hopefully when you're picking the speaker up he doesn't hit you with a "Hey, while you're here, can you take a quick look at our toilet?"

It's a small city so the few times I have bought something off CL, I've wondered if I'd recognize the seller from somewhere. Hasn't happened yet, but I did happen to see a familiar amp on CL that ended up being my friend's listing. Seeing it prompted me to check in on him, which was a good thing because turns out he was going thru a rough time and needed a shoulder to lean on.

It's an interesting coincidence for sure. Met with him at his house and bought the speaker (90's V30) and turns out he has a pretty cool band, writes and records, presses his own records ( never heard that one before ). Ya learn new things all the time.
Here is one of his tunes.
Sweet! A 90s V30, and some new tones! Glad it worked out! Congratulations!

Thank you, it seems to work really well with the Budda, sounds awesome. I’ve been on a bit of a speaker quest (again) for this amp. Bought 4 speakers in the last few weeks.
Excellent! Not that it has any relevance to your Budda….but I slapped an old V30 into a Peavey Classic 30, and….wow! It really brought that amp to life!(at least the clean channnel…with pedals for dirt…just sayin’…)

This clip has taken me back in time.
Thanks for sharing.
