Al used the original super distortion back in the day. Actually many players did because there weren't a lot of pickups back then. Certainly no signatures back then. Now the varieties are endless.
Good to know.

My guitar was supposed to be OEM with 2- double white T Top Pickups, but somewhere in time between 1979 and 2022 it got a double black Al DiMeola Sig like I said, and my guess for part of the reason is it had muti wire leads that the T Tops don't. This permitted it to be wired for the 2 mini toggles to do coil split and out of phase positions.
