Twitter Implosion

I'm not sure if anyone is following all the drama from Twitter these last few weeks, but my wife and I have been laughing our butts off these past several days at all the problems.

The paid accounts to get your "verified" blue check-mark was a disaster of biblical proportions. We were thoroughly entertained by the amount of people who paid the fee, and then trolled like madmen. I'm not a Twitter user so I don't know the in's and out's but apparently, you could pay the fee, get your cert and then change your name to whatever you felt like.

There were hundreds of people who changed their names and caused massive chaos. Elon's account went from himself, to dozens of impersonators. Coke, "tweeted" that they were putting Cocaine back into the mix, Pepsi "tweeted" Coke was better, etc.

I use "Tweeted" in quotes because that's the trolls posting. :D

The most impressive: Eli Lily "tweeted" that they were making Insulin free. That of course caused them to report the post, which stood for hours, and then tweeted a retraction. That little debacle caused their stock evaluation to tumble $15 BILLION dollars in the matter of one day.

Lockhead Martin "tweeted" that they were done making and selling weapons to foreign governments. That caused their value to tumble $4 Billion dollars.

I love it when the industry is shown to be so precarious in their position.

As for Twitter, it will be an interesting next few weeks to see if they can turn things around. They cancelled the paid subscription and stopped the name changing. But, Elon fired most of the top management, and then the rest left of their own accord. They have NO one in the compliance department, not even the pencil pushers, and they have NO one in the public relations department left either. So, none of the news agencies can get quotes from the company because, well, there's no one left to answer the phones.

It's BEAUTIFUL MAN!

Twitter means nothing to me, and as a matter of fact Facebook either.
I quit Twitter years ago. I do FB. Been able to reconnect with classmates. Used to get all wrapped up with defending political positions. Pointless debates. Try and not do that anymore. Now I just enjoy pointless stupid stuff to try and make people laugh. A few of you that are also on FB have most likely booed in disgust over my Punny Friday posts.

I never did Twitter. Basically because I didn’t want to become a twit.
Never understood it, nor did I try to understand it.
I’m sure it has a usefulness to it, but not for me.
I really don’t use FB much either. I use the marketplace to find deals on gear and occasionally comment on something if I have something of value to add.

This forum is pretty much the extent of my social media footprint.

Here I feel I am surrounded by fun, like minded, non-judgmental people who can carry on an intelligent conversation… until we decide to go off and derail.

Oh, and don’t let all that cool stuff I just said about you guy get to your heads!

I get songs stuck in my head. Not just during the day….. all day. But when I wake up in the middle of the night there’s usually one playing in the gray matter. Usually makes no sense where they came from. Can’t shake them. Can’t get back to sleep. Songs I haven’t thought about in years. So of course, I have to share on FB the “concert in my head in the middle of the night since I can’t sleep…..” song. Great fun. :pound-hand:

Yes to FB marketplace even though I hate how FB/Cuckerberg has infused his $$$ and power into the grab and influencing of and dividing the country instead of a tool to bring friends and family together.
