Extra 260

Here is my Edge 540, she's a beast weighing in at 14 Lbs is a great flyer 80" wingspan motivated power is an 1.60 C.I O.S Max, running a regulating 30 V.P Perry pump with Slimline Pitts muffler, swinging an 18x8" Xoar Prop. If you look at the two pictures they are different colours.

I had to rebuild it after a new member flying took off in front of me, when i was commited to landing , he broke all the rules and caused me to crash as i tried avoiding a collision with him. The picture on my bench is the rebuilt plane, it was busted up bad, firewall was completely torn off and fuse was in half, took it out the next season flys on a rail. Guys at the club couldn't believe it was the same plane.

The newcomer felt really bad and appoligized over and over again. He learned from it since the crash, he follows the rules now..:)

Not sure about numbers Don, There are more now than years ago, mainly due to indoor flying and older fellows up in age, that have difficulty moving the larger nitro, gas models . Also find when members sell their homes due to downsizing and move into apartments, they don't have the room and also are not allowed to store fuel in their appts. Therefore electric models more feasable due to size and fuel concerns.

But when you go to meets the major number is gas and nitro..
 
This Aircraft is Impressive!!! Most people have no idea, the expertise of this builder and Pilot who has built this Incredible well oiled machine.
