I'd meet in the middle on the red and orange into a reddish burnt orange.
I'd do carbon fiber knobs, pickup covers and truss cover.

At least that's how I feel at the moment.

The squirrel grey crackle might be cool, with the black underneath.

Thinking about repainting one of my Strats in OD.

Don't know if your married to crackle, but if not, try Hydrodipping. I love the way those look and I think that guitar would look really cool!

Never tried Hydrodip before, but its on the list of things to try.
My next adventure is to do a Lichtenberg effect.
As for this guitar, somebody already bought it and wants it crackled. Although, I love the suggestions so far. I will have to get a couple more and try some of the ideas you guys came up with.
I think an OD green would be cool with a military theme. Sort of like what @TVvoodoo does with his straps.
@Clockworkmike The slime burst starting with a sickly greenish yellow and fading it to green then black would be cool.
All these ideas go into my back pocket.
