FRIDAY NIGHT RIFFS

@LiveeviL2000
Anything he has played,, a lot of people think a Strat is mellow, to me it’s far from it.
Vito you have a Strat style guitar, and it rocks.
And I am sure Steve could rock the hell out of one.
That’s all Folks….

GG guitar’s can slay,, all they need is a player…

Mitch

I appreciate the sentiment, but you will never see me owning or using a strat..... Just plain no.
I loathe them with unending depth.
Nobody will ever change my mind on that.
There are just millions of better options.

I do get that. For a long time never had a desire for a Strat. I had my reasons. And then in a moment of weakness, I broke down and bought the blue one I’ve shared photos of here. Found myself wondering why I waited so long.

I have honestly sat down and objectively played them a few times trying to grasp the love for the instrument, and found that I truly hate the tone, the scale, the balloon shaped roundness of the body, the wall to wall plastic covering the route, despising the squeaky flat single coil pickups, the overall layout feels like it's bowed, the headstock angle is all wrong, the laughable trem bar with no locking nut..... I literally hate every single thing about it. . . Besides the fact that I think they are hideous (All my opinions of course)

I don't generally knock people for liking them(although I will often tease them), it's the most bought and sold guitar shape by far... Literally everyone has owned a cheap strat knock off at one time or another. And many folks own nice models.

I used to not like Les Paula or SGs either and after giving them objective second chances, I have grown to like them.

In my heart and soul, and in my ears, I am a Metal Head who loves an explorer, or a V And that's just who I am, standing firm in what my fingers and ears tell me.

Strats are not Metal and I will die on this hill, stubborn and convicted. . . with a handful of true metal heads standing beside me.

I feel like I hear a Manowar or Amon Amarth anthem playing in the background ha ha ha ha ha ha.

And I’m not knocking your choices. I would no sooner try and convince you that you have to have a Strat in your arsenal… no more than I’d try and convince Ramo to get a Tele. :pound-hand:

At the end of the day you can’t just like the guitar…. You have to love it. If you don’t. You won’t play it. And then what’s the point of having it??

I’ve found this Strat suits my “style”…. Whatever the heck that is. I play clean way more than I play grungy….. which is almost a complete opposite of what I like to listen too. And since getting the darn thing, I’ve probably played it more than the other ones combined.

Cool groove Vito, might have to grab my SG this evening, only one in D besides 2 of my Strats, that @Headache hates ha ha
Thank you Mitch.

I haven’t seen you play your SG in a while.
As for @Headache … I told Fiona about his personal “views” on strats.
Let’s just say she has some serious thoughts to share with Mr. Steve. :bash:
