I have a couple that need the action addressed. Just too lazy to attack. Finally got back to this one.
When I put it together, I eyeballed the action height and intonation, and played it.
It was ok, but could use some fine tuning.
Last night I dialed in the intonation and brought the action down a little.
The neck relief is just right.
Really nice playing and sounding guitar.
Feels right in my hands too.

Have been looking at those for years. I've got several guitars that might just love one.Well…it’s getting close to the ten year mark…since I installed my first Stetsbar. Finally, I’ve set it free to float on this guitar for the first time. I remember trying out a Stetsbar for the first time. It was on a Reverend guitar, at a local shop…the same shop I found this SG in. I remember how smooth and glassy it felt, and how well it stayed in tune. Since, it seems, my band is doing nothing anymore, I have come to realize that there is no longer a “stage rush” for me to change tunings…I can take my time these days…or just bring a hard tail to switch to.
Anyway…this floating Stetsbar thing, I can finally say in my opinionated way, is a really beautiful thing. An octave dive, a third up, and all the shimmer in between. It actually holds tune really well.

Yeah…I needed something that I could run “decked” so that I could easily drop-tune. The Stetsbar was the ticket for me. I only grabbed a second one, for my V, because I had an empty husk to work with. I was going to be spending money on something to use as a bridge and tailpiece…so…from that perspective, the Stetsbar wasn’t “that much” more. But yeah…the first one was a bit pricey. I’ve recovered though. Good luck! If you do decide to take the plunge…Have been looking at those for years. I've got several guitars that might just love one.
If only they weren't quite so pricey. Someday, when I have a little more cash available for mods...
My problem is, every time I get a little saved up, a cool guitar falls into my lap.

Yah, if a good bridge & tailpiece were required, saving on those would bring a Stetsbar more within reach.Yeah…I needed something that I could run “decked” so that I could easily drop-tune. Your assistant looks like you are well under control.I’m still hanging onto the Stetsbar on this(still set to float), with a little assistance…

The little Spark Mini, beside my chair, actually still sounds pretty good to me…
I got a couple of magnetic hooks to attach to the wood stove, beside me, for handy cable and strap hangers…no photos of that tonight…maybe next time![]()
