New Stuff

I always plugged into the left channel.
Turned my iPhone camera on (video) then plugged the USB into the phone.

That’s it.

With a PC it may not work that way.
Hmm , well my phone is less smart Samsung. Maybe me as well . Lol
The USB dual pre is a good product but also for about the same money you can get the IKMultimedia adapter for IPhone.
I rig.

With a PC, it would be great if there is a way to set up the L & R input sources to the same input from the ART. I can do that on MAC IIRC.…but I don’t know the Windows current audio setup situation…will it allow freedom of assignment in that way?

The iRig (pro)with a mic preamp looks cool, but is more expensive…but it looks very cool. They have a bunch of different models that have different inputs.

Just to be clear, the ART Dual Pre, a couple of mic’s, and an iPad were used to make this…

No other outboard, or computer gear, was used…recorded and mixed with an app.
Very well done Don . I just have the wrong phone but when I can I will get another IOS device.
But you raised more questions.
How do you set up your lead tone , post or what ?
EQ , Graphic EQ settings , Do you Use a Dynamic Compressor ? Which ones and how are they set ?
The type of recording you are doing is my go to. I like to use the available DAW editing when needed.
Me in front of a camera live is , well it is.
However it is what I got the device for because my HX Stomp does everything else. I do mean everything.

Uhoh….
How do you set up your lead tone ?
I used what I was using for band rehearsal, just a normal rig with some pedals.

This was taken between vocal takes…

The little homebrew 18watt through the Marshall cab…the electric used for the solo was this one…

My usual “band” pedal board setup from back then. Audix i5 on the lower left speaker of the 4x12.
Bass was plugged right in to the ART.

High pass filters only, for guitars. No other effects for them, other than a bit of compression and reverb on the master bus in the app. The direct bass track had a bit of compression, and this eq….

Not much production really…mic’s used were AT4033, i5, SM7b, and some little AKG mini pencil mic’s(I’d have to look to know what model number).
The master bus reverb…

Thanks. I always have a hard time getting the guitar production. I don't use a lot of effects for rhythms but for solos the standard verb and delay. Not yet 100 % on compression settings.
I have no problem adding Reverb In Post.

I like to keep it simple, most of the time. I will use eq if I’m really trying to make things ”fit” together. I try to keep the compression use under control…sometimes I fail…too much compression is bad for you.;)
