Yeah, so you know exactly what I'm talking about then, right?Exactly why I sold the CR500 (The Beast)
I have no "off" switch once the adrenaline starts pumping

Thanks man, I am feeling very much like I have a busted knee, but better than I did yesterday!Hope you're feeling a bit better now.
I've been there, done that. Smashed my ribcage falling onto a log I couldn't clear at high speed.
No joy.
100%. Rode all over the west half of the valley back where I grew up on that beast. I tried big-air once and damn near broke both my ankles when I came back to earth. Truth be told I got more air in my mom's S-10 blazer, but that's a whole 'nother story.Sure, but probably just like the XRs, right? Could take it out on the trails all day and have a blast, but not a bike you'd be trying to hit big air with, right?

Blinkie. I just recognized talent. Even before he got his number 1 plate for Kawasaki, I walked into Budds Creek in the middle of a heat race and saw number 70 flying way faster than anyone else. I said to myself, 70 has to be leading. This was the first of many events I saw Carmichael ascend to the top rider he became. I never saw the arrogance. I try not to judge. Been a big fan ever since MX's infancy. Hannah, DeCoster, Ward, Johnson on up to Emig, Lechiene, Metzger, Stewart, McGrath etc... No doubt these guys earned mega kudos for ballz n bravery and freaking speed.Dowd was pretty great too. Wasn't much of a fan of Ricky, he seemed arrogant as hell (which he had good reason for, but certain types of arrogance rubs me the wrong way, he is one example). I remember Doug racing snowmobiles, but I don't remember being aware that he became partially paralyzed...that's unfortunate.
Oh for sure, no doubt there was lots of talent...he was just one of those guys that rubbed me the wrong way whenever I would see him in an interview, so full of himself lolBlinkie. What I should be doing is writing lyrics while I sit here in pain and high on drugs. Might make for some interesting tidbits.I think you have a new topic here, thrashes, crashes and smashing bones to ashes !
Was that for hillclimbs? My Polaris was tricked out .
Big bore stroker 650cc I built and ported.
Mostly all hand fabricated. Sub-frame
CR seat. Custom tank, I had more fun building but it cost a lot.

I find Dave Mundaine even more annoying now that he's sober and found god. Instead of sneering at the crowd and telling them to fvck-off, he's all "gee thanks for coming tonight. I really hope you had a good time and like the songs."Oh for sure, no doubt there was lots of talent...he was just one of those guys that rubbed me the wrong way whenever I would see him in an interview, so full of himself lol
I feel the same way about Kerry King from Slayer, he's an a$$hole, but I still love Slayer. Doesn't mean that he sucks, just that he's kind of a prick is all.
Dave Mustaine also comes to mind. We all know and love him, but there's no question he's a self absorbed jerk lol....not so much in his older years, but certainly throughout his career.
Well I have a feeling that my posts might start to get less frequent and less coherent. They have taken me off the IV pain meds and have tried to put me on oral meds, but my leg is not liking it at all. It has begun to hurt so badly again that I am getting lightheaded like I might pass out. They made me get out of bed and put me in a chair for a while, I think in hopes that they could send me home until the next surgery but as far as I can tell, it is only getting worse. They've given me lots of fentanyl, dilaudid, and toradol, and they were working pretty well for the most part, but I have been off them for a couple hours and now it's pretty awful again.I am just surprised every time I read all the coherent sentences Mcblink is puttin down.
Heck, for the 3.5 days I was in the hospital on Demerol and IV of Antibiotics from the nailgun nail through my foot, I could barely stay awake long enough to read one paragraph of the book I had mom bring me.
