I have always wanted one, but was unwilling to spend major bucks. Thanks to Musicians Friend, I'm getting this beauty with an additional 15% off. And the major kicker is my wife insisted I get it.

Love everything about Martin guitars. Have been in stores where I’ve sampled Martins and Taylor’s. Both amazing guitars. Both bring something different. But there’s just something about the Martin that suits me better.

Enjoy your new music maker. You’re gonna love it.

EDIT: that said. I’ve never owned one. 50 years ago bought my Ovation since at the time I couldn’t afford a Martin. Love my Ovation but sometimes wish I’d have held out for a Martin.

Funny backstory to this. My wife's recovery has been very slow going and she has to spend most of her days in bed. She always wants me to play for her (it's gotta be the meds) so I brought one of my acoustics up and keep it in the bedroom. I guess it was last Monday night while I was playing she asked me why I never wanted a Martin. I said I've always wanted one but they were too frigging expensive. So then she said "how 'bout I get it for you?" This began a 3 day "discussion" with me pushing back with the financial argument. I have always said she would have made a hell of a prosecutor because by Thursday night she wore me down. I ordered one from Musician Friend and once again there was harmony in the house. Friday morning I woke up wracked with guilt and canceled the order. My guy from MF said if I change my mind, call back and he would knock an additional 15% off. When she woke up she was "upset" with me. Thus the process began all over again until Friday night. Her final argument was "if you're going to play for me, you might as well play a Martin because your other acoustics suck". Game, set, and match. Back on the phone I went and placed the order. They were as good as their word and I got the 15% off. That made the purchase a little more palatable, but even still her generosity never ceases to amaze me. Got a ping today it should be here Wednesday. I have to admit, I'm a little (ha) excited to get it. I only played one once about 40 years ago and the tone was so amazing. So here I wait. I'm try to pick out a song for her that I can actually play. It's a good problem to have.
 
Way back late 70s early 80s wife and I were in a music shop in Davenport IA. we were dinking around with the acoustics hanging there. Especially the Martins. They were pretty much averaging in the $1500 range. Too rich for us. Salesman sees us. Asks if we like Martin’s. Duh!! Told us they’d just had a Martin “show” and had one on loan for few more days. So he brought it to us. Sucker was blinged out more than I’ve ever seen a guitar. Swore the ring around the sound hole and binding had diamonds in them. Oddly. Sounded just like the $1500 one I’d just been playing. Difference was….. it was a $10,000 guitar…… and that was early 80s.

It was really pretty though.
