Kerry Brown
Ambassador of the Great Northern Bar Jams
The gig went great, full house for two sets. Must have been OK, most of the audience stayed for both sets and we got two encores. They turned away a few at the door. The 60’s songs, Yardbirds, Paul Revere, etc. seemed to go over the best with Tragically hip also getting a good response with a full dance floor. It feels so good to be performing again. We have an all SS setup with small lightweight amps. My bass amp is a Traynor 1x10 combo with a Neo speaker. One of the guitar players goes straight into my Quilter with a Neo 1x10 cab. The other guitar player has a bunch of pedals into a Line 6 of some sort into the PA. When they play acoustic they go DI into the PA. The PA is a 16 input mixer into a Bose. The Bose is amazing. I’m loving the tone of the band and the lack of heavy gear to load in/out. We got a couple more bookings from people at the gig. We have at least two a month through to September. We had an offer to go to Lund, a small town two ferry rides away. They will pay us and put us up with food and lodging for two nights if we play both nights. Rock and Roll baby!
