5 string open "D" tuning ????

I have a hankering to try it------ just curious---tips---tricks---- do's donts etc.
Play In Open G Tuning Like Keith Richards

Yes but I tune the low e to G and mute it but if it does ring a little its ok.

Well, I have a Telecaster sitting there jsut ASKING to have 5 strings only
I may give this a whirl this weekend and go FOOL ON KEEF with 5 strings........who knows might improve my playing six get in my way anyway ---4 is best--- perhaps I should take up Ukulele?????????? Electric METAL Uke!!!

I also found that going back and forth to that and standard tuning several times I break high e strings.

Yeah, once, with a tele, as you would, and got really bored of it after about 3 days.

You must prove it to yourself! Lose the low E and channel your inner Keef!
