This "
ty Chinese Knock-Off" has the most perfect (measured) fret-to-fret spacing, neck angle, and the most spot-on intonation of any guitar in my stable. Whether intentionally or by accident, this is one of the very best playing and sounding guitars i have ever owned.
Now, I have not measured my 2021 Gibson Les Paul 50's Standard Gold Top, but I would say that this "Chibby" is certainly on-par with it
The Gibson Burstbuckers (BB3 8.2K A2) are very bright pickups and actually seem very high output. They sound a little "brash" or "brittle" if the tone control is run wide open.
Not a flame, just an observation.
The Planet Tone Afterburner in the Chibby is more rounded. It has more DCR than the Burstbucker (13.5k A5) and its just smoother overalll with a less mid-rangey spikiness. Its fatter and chunkier too.
Both have their place and both are good sounding guitars in their own right.
The Gibson 50's Standard Gold Top is a screaming, squealing beast that you have to constantly wrestle to control. If you don't sweep your volume off it will yell at you.
With the Chibber, I can stand 4 feet in front of my amp with the master on 7.5 and just let go of it and it won't feedback.
They are equally great guitars, but their live behavior is very different.
Maybe we need to get a video of Johnny playing the Gold Top tomorrow???

Truth be told, it's out on loan to a lot of bands for their recordings or photo shoots. I don't post much because the replica gets so much negativity from some members, but its a GREAT guitar!!!!
