The 339 was the smaller of the two, right? I always get them confused.

Correct. The 339 came later, and is the smaller version. The 335, 345, and 355 were original to the late fifties models.

Is that a 225?

I have a friend whose dad bought an ES225 used in 1957!!! He gave it to one of the grandkids...I wanted it...

Unfortunately, never owned a true ES-335/345/355 but would love to! But, years ago my dad found this random ass copy called a Kansas ( a loosely affiliated company to Cort) in a pawnshop for about $200. Had a true mahogany body and neck with a maple top and binding. Pickups sucked beyond comprehension and the hardware was this cheapo gold that flaked off.

So i asked him one day if i could mod it and he said "Sure, it sucks anyways" and so i dropped about twice what it was worth into it like a moron lol changed all the hardware to Gibson, the pickups to a Burstbucker 2 and 57 Classic Plus and Grover Mini Tuners.

He basically gave it to me, i guess for feeling so bad that I dumped so much into it, in this aimless mission lol its been a great guitar though

Clockwork Mike,you get points for actually playing a 335 type guitar.One of my all time favorite guitar shapes by the way. AND you get bonus points for jammin on Uncle Ted. Thanks now thats stuck in my head and i just gotta figure it out hahajaha
