Gibson Had A New Idea?

Nor mine. But I'm often baffled by modern trends...

The irony of this guitar is that it is developed from a design that predated even the Gibson SG. It would have been modern in 1957!

I think it would have been cooler if they had stuck with Ted McCarty’s original design and put the pickup selector in the lower horn, similar to a Byrdland. McCarty’s headstock design for this was also smaller and less angled than the Explorer headstock this model has.

the "irony" is .... can anyone even verify (really) if this thing was EVER really designed by Mcarty ... if its drawings are really "authentic".... or if its some dreamed up sales gimmick by the MARKETING MACHINE that is GIBSON.....................

we had the missing log book pages issue resurface a month or 2 ago

now.... this ugly ass guitar surfaces.......

hmmm

wonder what they will find in the "archives" in another few months........... (I think Agnisi and the Marketing department are rollin fatty's and dreaming up stuff to sell) but Im a cynical sot
