TVvoodoo's Straplab

Get a load of this refinished OG Esquire, stripped oiled... dated out of the factory in March 1962.
Suitably Well-Hung in a Tweedly-Wheedly

Rick in Mississauga Ontario was particularly chuffed to find the oil-tanned leather ends matched the rosewood fretboard near perfectly.
Keef also shown, enjoying his last smoke. If he can quit you can too! He sure didn't like this guitar much though:

" 'At's a royal fookin' winkie-up there mate, too many strings man. " Shaking his head disgusted, he sneers and points a single crooked finger at me,
"Been pissin' up against the wall again, then? " he queried, "Why didn't you ring me up lad? Tossed the fags, but I still get battered ya arsehole"

Even in my fantasy, Keef is mean to me.
You are such a cut up. One day we will meet for pints and entertain each other!! Sounds so fun...

Wow @Don O what a fantastic match - that strat is quite amazing! how is that texture done? Never seen anything like it before!
it is carved in by laser or something?

"Safari -BLK" is a new Class Act design, gonna hit the store tonight.

DrDblHAL_o.jpg

Made out of a buttery-soft fawn-coloured leather that had me thinking of big cats lording over the Serengeti Plains. The Well-Hung Class Act line is are built with more complex craft involved, including a super easy-to-use "back-buckler" design, that keeps the nickel back buckle protected from getting all dinged up my your guitar.

also new in my store tonight will be a set of four new Sum Long Hung Guy straps in a colour shifty navy/pelham satin, with silvery vines, lanterns and dragons embroidered upon them
busy days today and yesterday!

I think it’s laser cut.

Got a bunch of new Well-Hung "Octane" rehearsal space promo banners in... you could actually have me include one of these in your package for free if you know what you're doing...
I think a bunch of you have them... already just visit the Reverb Store (linkinmysig) and find out how. These are slightly updated, and black, not dark purply shitty black
This is valid only while they last, of course.

Designed to inspire, intimidate & incite to incinerate, in a pinch you can also use 'em as handy curtains to conceal whatever debaucheries might be going down inside your mancave/lair.
One would look particularly good hanging over your Marshall half stack, and probably impress all the wrong kinds of ladies.

First TTR fella to get in on this, I'll send you two, so you can give one to a friend!

Is this one of the originals?

Don, that is one of the second run. The third run was kind of a purply black, I am now on the fourth run.

Today on the StrapLab birthing table, came a new No Prisoners line strap I'm calling "Lizard King"

fpUyFq5S_o.jpg

Know what baby? Wearing a badass concho belt'll make anyone feel like they can do anything! Sayeth J-Mo? "Awwww YEAH-YAH!!!"

I'll be putting a few more pics of this baby up on F-book tonight, it'll probably hit Reverb tomorrow if you are interested. No sniping.
There's also a fun but goofy "guess the number of picks" contest on the F-book page right now too, you can win a whole bunch of the strangely popular Well-Hung branded fender med-heavies.
Just throw out a guess, real easy. Maybe you get lucky, but I do hope you hit the lotto instead. But.... free picks?

3" wide, padded, goes up to about 59", long strong etc. It's a gooder!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Diggin it!!!!!

For today, the Well-Hung "Stage King" is a popular design from my past. I have neglected the line for a few years now. I'm not sure if I've made any since I returned to TTR... Managed to build up five new beauties today which now becomes the 7th unique version of this line.

All have had a signature corduroy crossways lining to fight off neck dive. It's also an agressive and interesting texture for a singular look and soft--on-the-neck comfort.
These are not quite as floofy as my regular strap but worlds more comfy than a regular hootennany slider. This is due to the unique build....
3" wide, rolled edges, and 1/2" of padding.

44"-60" micro-adjustable like straps in this style always are. Vintagey cool saugerties ribbon all down main body, and really great leather ends picked specifically to match the ribbon.

Perhaps you know a proper 3" wide nicely padded sliding buckle hootenanny style strap is a rare find. Just try to source one.
Oh man, lengths I went to to have my very own solid 3" wide no-slip ABS buckle and loops molded. With this hardware, I avoided the need for any of those
guitar dinging metal loops and rivet situation most other brand hootenanny style straps suffer from.

Coming to the Well-Hung store this weekend!

I've been spending a couple of days doing a deep clean of the StrapLab, a lot of sweeping, vacuuming, re-arranging.
so no new straps or anything really interesting to post. So I'm pulling something fun from my archives.

about a fourteen years ago I got the customizing /refinishing bug. This was my first completed project,
a frankentele I dubbed the Rangecaster, in honour of my rancher/oilman uncle Duke who'd passed away.
His "Rockin' 69" brand has now been retired, or at least unregistered with the authorities (probably).

Ju6TcE8Y_o.jpg

It's a liar's Esquire with a P-90 stealthily hidden under the cowhide, wired 4-way, swamp ash torched and finished in Tru Oil.
Great big fat jumbo frets, wonderfully smooth neck.

Some fun project shots during the making...

I learned a lot on this one, my first refinish. Also tried my hand at simple dremel engraving, (admittedly not that great), carved my first nut out of moose bone,
branding the hide was terrifying and real stinky (reminded me of my youth though!) and took me a couple of tries before I got it right. Also made my first
custom headstock logo /waterslide.

Still have it, and is probably one that I'll never let go of

This project ended up inspiring me in ways other than musically...first strap I ever made, out of the same cowhide fur, no sewing, just a very thin layer of padding and lining (all glued) and a number of coppery riveted conchos.

Small beginnings... The Rangecaster eventually led me down a strap-making path I'd've never imagined at the time.

Fresh pair of ZAP gatstraps bolted off my bench today. Electric Dragon is sure to amp up anyone's stage presence to dangerous levels.
Use at your own risk, suggest some rubber soled shoes, and definitely grounded plugs. Watch for them in the Well-Hung Reverb store soon.

3" Wide nice leather base with rolled edges. Not just a hard chopped off edge on the sides so it don't cut into your neck. This takes a lot of extra doin' that many others won' t bother to do...
but I do it on almost all my straps and it's SO worth the extra effort. Also find my typical internal carved foam and soft comfy lining.

The bolt is in a chromey-dragon/gator fakey leather, thick and tough, and it glitters like the eye of a crocodile watching a crappy swimmer.
I can personally attest that this strap is gonna to inspire great new stage shapes to throw, even if you can't come up with any hot new licks. :jammer:
