I was listening to some of Headache's clips and ran across this dude. He should join our group for his riffage.
I love old photos, has so much characters. So, it's not a grandpa guitar then?
Phew! I was worried for a minute!
Here's a picture of my gramps a few months before he passed. I was barely 25. He's holding my first kid, she's going to be 16 soon. Also pictured behind is my dad.

And here's me playing it while still quite young. Still to this day, I despise being surprised by people with cameras.

That would be great Mark,, but I also have a lot of responsibility’s here as well buddy.. and I am working right now.. but a great idea nonetheless..Mitch, I sure wish I could out you up here with Kathy and me.
I could put you to work and the 2 of us could do all the renovating of her place, my place, and even my Florida place. Kathy can pay you and feed you well too.
Then we can jam and you can help me record our riffs.
If we can’t dream,, then there is nothing to look forward to..OK Mitch, I knew it. A man can dream cant he?
@Ramo

I sort of came to the same conclusion. Had to read back several pages. Guess my entire collection falls under the GG category.Grandpa Guitar if I understand the originator of the term and even inventor of this topic within this Friday night Riffage thread. It all stems from @Ramo dislike for Teleradios, and especially brown guitars. Hence his term Grandpa Guitar.
I went to play some of my GG's after midnight and they all said they were too old.
So, I had to play my Edgy Jackson RR3 V guitar instead.
I would not feel offended. @Ramo has his preferences,. just like Norm likes Godins very much, Robert likes Gibson scale lengths, wide neck nut widths, and guitars with flawless intonation and durable frets, SS amps etc. So it's all good if we enjoy widely different equipped and designed gear.I sort of came to the same conclusion. Gotta admit. I do get somewhat offended that since I don’t own a “V” somehow that invalidates my guitars as being worthy. But that’s just this grumpy old grandpa.
It’s all good till someone disses what I own. I may not be a fan of every guitar you guys play. Would not own it personally. I would never rip you on your choice of weapon.I would not feel offended. @Ramo has his preferences,. just like Norm likes Godins very much, Robert likes Gibson scale lengths, wide neck nut widths, and guitars with flawless intonation and durable frets, SS amps etc. So it's all good if we enjoy widely different equipped and designed gear.
Don’t worry about it….somehow my “V” doesn’t qualifyI do get somewhat offended that since I don’t own a “V” somehow that invalidates my guitars as being worthy.

…Yet it would absolutely slay any of the guitars that I have owned that would be deemed “worthy”.:dood:Except my good sir. You’ve all but suggested the only thing a telecaster is good for is firewood. I have two of them. You see where I’m coming from? And that….. is not on me.Ya all missing a point!!!!
Play what you want, buy what you want!!!!
It dose not change fact that modern guitars are modern and old guitars are old guitars.
It dose not mean old guitars are bad they just look dated. Specially brown coloured ones.
If that hurts your feelings thats on you.
