FRIDAY NIGHT RIFFS

Ever have one of those happy accident songs? When you set out to do one and something totally different happens, then you don't really know what you did so don't know how to re-create what makes it cool in your mind?

That's this song for me:

Wish I'd had the Axe FX when I did this, instead of the HD500x...
I like that mosquito killing machine sound at the beginning..... some cool riffs and vibes in this one.

EVERY TIME I play.

MY brain is also not wired right, to recall anything in rote fashion. If I am ever to recapture anything I play, I will need to video myself.

Maybe it's a Maryland thing... :ROFLMAO:
Iron1, More likely a Cleveland Ohio thing, transplanted to Maryland thing.

My guess and self diagnosis is, that when I was growing up, I was likely ADHD before there was such a thing.
In Elem School, my best subjects were Gym, and Recess followed by Lunch. The other stuff, my attention span sucked so bad, I could never finish reading something before the teacher was ever ready to ask us all questions about the material.

By the time I made it through Middle School, I did better at stuff like Algebra, or scientific stuff like, dinosaurs, archaeology, electro magnetism etc which was likely because I liked a challenge to figure stuff out.
But, stuff like sentence structures, punctuation, grammar, and hidden meanings supposedly in Author's words ( I was too literal to realize there was such a thing as hidden meanings and that a statement such as " The theme of the movie Little Big Man was really the writer's way of linking horrific genocide in Vietnam to that of how Indians were treated..." I did a research paper on this movie which I loved and thought was funny. But turned out that newspaper critics and writers addressed the theme as being the Genocide link. I HAD NO FRIGGEN CLUE< every time I saw Dustin Hoffman, the backwards on a horse riding Indian, and Chief Dan George, saying " It's not a good day for dying, Let's eat"

Now, I struggle, because I am tasked with handling at least 10 simultaneous responsibilities and learning stuff like Taxes, Elder Law, Medical and Health insurance, Medicare Medigap, Medicaid, Estate planning and preservation Power of Attorneys, Wills, and all manner of things that experts know, but I have to follow behind in order to get it done right. In other words, I seldom can just stop and concentrate on ONE thing. MY life of juggling, has equipped me to keep the balls in the air most of the time, but this means stuff like info retention often takes a lot of effort for things to permanently sink in and for me to learn, process and then regurgitate word for word.

LOL I could never be a singer, I can barely put 5 words together and spit it out right, 2 times in a row.

Well, definitely don't think you're alone in a lot of that Chili. ADHD was just called hyperactivity when I was labeled with it as a kid. Now, it's called "highly productive" :ROFLMAO:

After my manager cleaned & set up my Franken7, he ordered a set of Black Beauty strings for me and was adamant that I try them out. Well, he gave 'em to me yesterday and I put them on this morning. Didn't actually expect them to be black... kinda dig that part of it. And, so far, I really like them. Now to see how long they hold up.

Here's a piece I tossed together for him to hear them in action:

Ah! the wicked sound of the devil's triad.....

So far I really like them. But, they've been on the fiddle for all of 3 hours so... the real test for me is how they hold up. Most strings I get talked into that aren't D'Addario are dead and/or feel crappy within a week.

OH HAIL YEAH>>>>> NOW I know how to get a wide necked Jackson. Buy one of these!!!!

Iron1, is that a Jet City 1x12 I see?
Actually, no. My father in law and I cloned a Mesa Boogie 112 last summer. The Jet City badge came with my JCA100HDM I got a few weeks ago and I just hung it on the Mesa Clone Cab so I wouldn't misplace it.

The guitar, if you're interested, is a Jackson JS22-7. Bought it for $100 used off a local guy when I was still in Texas. Custom painted it myself using a dry brush technique I saw a guy use on a tongue & groove hardwood ceiling. Swapped in a Hipshot bridge, Schaller locking tuners, and an ongoing list of pickup swaps. Currently it has a Nazgul in the bridge and a Black Winter in the neck, which pair very well together.
