I levelled up!!

I changed from 10s to 9s not too long ago and like them much better. Ernie Ball Super Slinky’s for me!

Same here. About a year ago. I switched to 10's from 9's maybe 25 years ago and I honestly have no recollection as to why now but I am so glad I switched back. After about 2 weeks of acclimation they didn't feel lighter any more but I got better tone, better feel, better everything out of the deal. Really, I wish I had switched back sooner or better yet never switched to 10's at all.

I've been using D'Addario XLs since the early 90s and I almost never break strings. Every time I've tried a different brand, they don't last long before I'm back to the D'Addarios. My boss got me a set of Black Beauties that are supposed to come in this week he really wants me to try out, so maybe those will pull me away from D'Addario, but probably not. :ROFLMAO:
Once you go black, you never go back.

And you ain't a man till you split a black oak.

I feel like my lead playing is more articulate with .010/.023/.017p because I can easily over-bend .009/.011/.015 during a high energy performance.

On my Slash/AFD Les Paul Replica, I am tuned to D standard and use Ernie Ball Burly Slinky .011 x .052 wrapped over the tailpiece.

I cut the nut specifically for this gauge...
