Here in Korea, in the mountains, humidity changes and other environmental stuff means that necks need adjusting very often, at least weekly if not daily. & the Ibanez bass had a great solution:

This new SG, with the unusual Steinberger tuners and lovely neck, is becoming my no.1 playable and functional fun machine, so the trc idea fits that ethos.

Yeah, I did that for a week or so, but then I gotta thinkin' (not much thinking, it must be said...).

Yes, you're right. This isn't a solution, per se, more of a pragmatic work-around. Actually, if Gibson made an easily accessible trc when they were doing zero nuts and robot tuners and stuff then that'd help consumers. Ok, it's not a biggie, taking two screws off from time to time isn't a massive issue, but it's easier this way.

The future tribute TRC cover is nasty cheap plastic and looks terrible - I've ordered up a basic plain one with 3 ply just to look a bit less unpleasant.
