I've been drooling over these since I first laid my peepers on them!

This past weekend, my other guitardist finished paying me for my LPJ. So I had money burning a hole in my pocket.

Ended up at the music store in Prescott today just goofing around and saw this. I had to add 4 bills on top of the 1k I had in my pocket, but .... I'm happy with it!

As I understand it, Gibson makes like 500 or so of these BFGs (Barely Finished Guitars) one time every 10 years or something like that. This one is a brand new 2018 model. Hasn't been molested at all.

It's very First molestation was captured by my phone today...

 
First impressions: 10 minutes in...

1. It's pretty lightweight for a Lester.
2. Round round round neck, it seems narrow at the throat.
3. Pickups seem bright and sassy, I'll have to look up what's even in this.
4. No fret markers is no big deal for me, I don't look at the face anyhow. But I'm sure it will bother a lot of LP fans.
5. It's comfy, and I adore the scalloped face! That's kind of what makes it special.
6. Feels like wood.... Not much finish on this whatsoever.... I'm not going to get splinters, but it feels like I bought it at Home Depot in the lumber dept.
7. Tunes very solid!
8. Might change out all the hardware to black, that's my thoughts so far.

Headache, I am just seeing this thread and I concur on the BFG's despite not owning one. The story goes that back around 2012 I took a shot at getting one on ebay but missed being high bidder in the last seconds. Wound up with my first SG instead. MY BLACKIE, which led to acquiring 2 more killer rockers. My Faded and my Classic. Guess you can tell I love my SG's, but still love my Lester's too, just see my Avatar.

My Buddy;s Blue one has the P90 in the neck and he swapped in a HOT pup like 13k ( I forget the maker) in the bridge.
