Stratocaster Floyd Question:

The standard tremolo is not a nightmare. There is a certain trick you can do. I. Own a 1998 American Standard Strat that you can divebomb like crazy and it will stay in tune perfectly. I can reveal the secret if you really want to know. Ask and you shall recieve with wisdom.

Ok...I'm curious now...does it involve lard???

Hey Robert...check out on YouTube on "How to keep your Strat in tune" on FRUDUA TV. I'm having a bitch of a time with my cell phone. I can post with a computer but on my cell it's hard to do...especially when zeros look like capital 'O's if you know what I mean. You'll be amazed by the process. I'll post the video later when I have acess to a computer.

Here you go Robert
First video of 5, the others will show up underneath this one (at least I hope they do). Also just a two point (trem only)
Hope this helps. Cheers

Jeez...you beat me to it Ivan. Glad you posted those videos. That's how I tune my American Standard and it works wonders! I dive bomb mine to hell and it still stays in tune. Great video isn't it. Thanks for posting which saves me the trouble. Cheers my friend!

Black SG - Let me say this to you. I was tormented as a child because I was different. I was ridiculed and ostracized. It taught me the value of individuality and tolerance. I know for a fact that my ramblings get on other people's nerves, but I do not intend for this. It is simply a fact. People often ask me why they see tears streaming down my face when I play...and I tell them...All my life, I supported others...I played who they wanted me to play and what they wanted me to play...and now, that I am able to play what I want too, I am simply consumed by the joy of finally being able to be myself...and not being punished for it....

You are always welcome here my friend....

Wow...that is really heavy Robert! You seem to be a tortured soul like I feel sometimes. When I play guitar a lot of feeling comes out. It's like meditation for my soul holding a guitar and expressing my feelings. You are never too old to play guitar...even at a 100 years of age! There is no other hobby than playing guitar and tweaking it to your specifications. I do some measurements myself and make sure the guitar is in top-notch performance. Maybe you should go into business with yourself and do guitar setups for other people at a minimal charge...or maximal. Go for it Robert.

Floyd Rose content: Ok...so now that I have left the band, and stopped doing studio work, I am devoting more time to being home and more time to my little guitar project.

Last night, my youngest son and I hit Guitar Sinner and I picked up a few more guitar stands and some small parts for a side guitar project.

I hadn't played a Floyd in a long time...I mean seriously played, other than just setting them up here before shipment, so I grabbed a Schecter, with a floating floyd rose special, and plugged into a Blackstar ID-Core 100.

For 30 minutes, I just played everything I knew. I put most of my emphasis on double stops and bend and held a lot of notes to check the state of tune between strings.

I was surprised that I didn't have any problems. The dramatic 'G' string bend in Hotel California, simultaneously striking the un-bent 'e' was in pitch.

The only 'negative' I noticed was a 'warble' anomaly that seemed to be generated from my heavy pick strike while playing rythym. Maybe its just my writer's palm moving the trem, but its definitely my heavy handed style for certain.

I think I will add an adjustable Trem-Stop to my own personal Floyd Rose equipped guitars, just so my rythym work is cleaner - a simple adjustment which could be backed off for studio work.

I wonder if adding springs would offer more rythym stability??? I could see only 2 springs, at an angle, through the back cover.

Hmmmm.....
