I like tone on my amp itself but adding od give different character.Haven't taken a pic of my exact one, but it's one of these. Thing is in brand new condition, but I'm the second owner.
I know, I know, I'm old... but for the life of me I don't get why a metal player would buy anything other than an SD1 or a TS/808, both of which are readily available for under $100 (there's a local guy selling an SD1 right now, seemingly brand new in the box with all the goodies for $30... so tempted to buy it just to have, but don't need a 3rd one).
If you can't get great OD tones with a solid amp and one of these two pedals, spending $1/2/3/400 on a boutique one won't get you there either. In the end, they're all just rips offs of the SD1 and/or 808 circuit anyway.
Oooo.... now that, it a different animal to the standard boutique OD pedal I just mentioned.
I'm getting there with Donner (actually read somewhere that they're basically the same company - but don't know how accurate that is). My Noise Killer is a little tank that does what it should do very, very well. And this EQ Seeker seems equally as solid.

I boost my Friedman be-od with sd, I treat that pedal as an amp
