NAG Day!

I remember my GS Mini came with 13's. I live about one mile from the Pacific. Months later, it developed a nice belly bulge and increased action. Removed the strings and let the guitar sit for a few days till the bulge mellowed out. I restrung with 12's, and never had a problem again.
I have a 3 pack of 11s, that I ordered the same day I ordered the GS Mini, on the way…I now know that I like that sized set on the Martin…I’ll try them on the GS Mini(although it seems like I’ve either got 11s or 12s already…the low E calipers right on with another 52…suppose it could be 12-53…but…).

There’s more!

I did say it was FRIKKEN TINY!!!

It arrived almost in tune…3 of 6 right on, and the others within 8 cents. It sounds bigger than it looks, and feels pretty darned good!
…and @RVA it seems like it has 11ish to 52 strings…they caliper the same as the ones I just put on the Martin. I could be wrong…my calipers suck for the small strings, but the low E (now NIH! Flat) is definitely a 52.
Does that also have the Pick Up system? or is it just acoustic?
Very sweet, and Koa is a great wood.

Sorry to dwell on the string gauge but... AFAIK, Taylor still advertises the GS Mini's with Elixir Phosphor Bronze Mediums, which are 13-56. However, I do notice that Sweetwater is the only vendor that advertises the GS Mini strings as 11-52. It's not the first or second time I've noticed incorrect descriptions in the details from Sweetwater.

Yep…I would just use them on the Martin…. But I am fairly certain that what’s on the GS I received is not a 13-56 set…I could be wrong. Could be 12-53…maybe.

Intewesting... :hmmm:. Your GS Mini is an unmolested brand new guitar, right?

If the stock strings feel real stiff for bending, compared to your other acoustic(s), then they're likely 13's.

Just the “Sweetwater setup”. The box was not “factory sealed”….that seal was plainly broken, and a Sweetwater tech’s inspection/setup card was woven through the strings. So, I can’t say what was done after it left Taylor. Perhaps it went on a meth binge as it made it way North to Sweetwater;). I can say that my crappy calipers lock, and I am able to lock it on to the low E on my Martin. That low E was unsealed from the package two nights ago, and was labeled by Elixir as a .052. That locked caliper fits on to the low E on the GS mini. I can’t imagine it would easily fit on a .056.…maybe a .053. I wish I had a nice digital caliper around here…perhaps after the upcoming storm. I’ve been meaning to pick one up for the new shop since August.

Micrometers are more accurate.

Yeah, a micrometer is what I’m in need of…for edger calibration at the shop…all I have is my old crappy calipers. They kinda get the job done…I mean, I’m not wrecking and/or resetting lenses with any regularity, but that’s because I have a feel for my tools and rudimentary calibration tools available…and I’m not hesitant to hand finish my stuff. It comes out better that way anyway.
