I know lots of you have these. On worship team, pretty much every guitar player but me had a tuner clipped to the headstock. I had my Boss tuner on my pedal board. I’m too anal retentive to clip anything on my headstock…. That include a capo. And I tried with the capo….. but it was making me crazier than I already am. Won’t do it. But that’s just me.

I clip mine on to tune up, then it comes off and gets turned off.

I use in in rehearsal when I don't have one of my boards. Floor tuner is so easy and nice.I clip mine on to tune up, then it comes off and gets turned off.
Put someone’s eye out….. or taking the pick flick to a new level.I use in in rehearsal when I don't have one of my boards. Floor tuner is so easy and nice.
That said, I too tune then remove it. I flail around and it looks stupid up there IMO. Might fly off too.
Yep I love the floor tuner. Tune on the fly by ear too! Often faster than by tuner!Put someone’s eye out….. or taking the pick flick to a new level.
One convenience of the floor tuner is one can mute while tuning. Also on those rare occasions I needed to change guitars…. Could also mute before unplugging and re-plugging. Since I primarily played acoustic… once tuned, it would rarely change the rest of the morning. And being old, in the early years. I had to tune to the piano or keyboard. Learned to tune by ear…. So if by chance I had a string go off tune, I could adjust on the fly.
Maybe nerdy, yes... but I'd be much more inclined to say either they're a bit lazy to take it off once tuned or the guitar they're playing is soI also tune , then take off, I think its pretty nerdy when i see people that leave it on the headstock, just saying.

I got the D'Adario micro clip tuner about a year ago. Unlike other clip on tuners that look like a third eye growing out of your forehead, it is very unobtrusive and convenient. The LED can be on the back of the headstock. It's barely noticeable from the front. And it's very light and cheap enough to get a few for all your main guitars.Yep I love the floor tuner. The Polytune 3 allows me to tune either muted or not so I can tune on the fly with whatever note here n there while still playing audibly.
That sounds decent!I got the D'Adario micro clip tuner about a year ago. Unlike other clip on tuners that look like a third eye growing out of your forehead, it is very unobtrusive and convenient. I always hated the way clip on tuners looked until I got this one. It's pretty darned accurate too.
I still like my floor tuner, but for the times I play straight into the amp (most of the time) it's a convenience. That sounds decent!
But live the floor tuner is the ticket. On or off as necessary by foot and polyphonic. As I am using a pedalboard anyhow...
I use a Snark clip,on when I don't have pedal board, absolutley! Convenient amd compact. I take it off after tuning.I still like my floor tuner, but for the times I play straight into the amp (most of the time) it's a convenience.
Live with a pedal board I'd use the floor tuner too in most cases.
For $20 USD it wouldn't hurt to check one out. Also great for an acoustic without an onboard tuner for the beach, camping, or just sitting around the house. You don't have to turn down the TV to tune lol
I was going to try to have a sarcastic comeback, but I couldn't think of anything Snarky enough.I use a Snark clip,on when I don't have pedal board, absolutley! Convenient amd compact. I take it off after tuning.

I do too.I use a Snark clip,on when I don't have pedal board, absolutley! Convenient amd compact. I take it off after tuning.
