Fizzly, Sizzly, Fading in and out Sound.

So, I'm playing the Orange OR15 and the sound cuts out. Kind of a sizzling fade like the power was shut off. Then it comes back in normal sounding after some static like sounds. Keeps doing this back and forth. Do you guys think I am looking at a tube problem? The amp is only a few weeks old, but I have all vintage EL84 and 12AX7s in it.

Yep I think so. Put original tubes back in and see. Both pre and power!
I have had that from both a weak preamp amd weak power tubes.

Yep…I agree with @Jethro Rocker …not gonna guess at which one either…you could try chopsticking each one that’s in there now if you want, but hey…sorry to hear sir.

I swapped the stock EL84 power tubes back in and everything is fine other than it sounds harsh. Give me some good recommendations for EL84s other than the JJs I have. I will run new stuff if they sound decent.

Hmm. JJ are supposed to sound darker so that might make it interesting.

So, I may have had a few beers at this point. My fingers started to loosen up by the third verse. I had to turn the volume down quite a bit lower than I normally play to not piss off my phone.
