Jerry's Split Bumper has gone through its changes & evolution over the years to become the street monster it is today. He has held the #1 slot down several times out there on OKC.

Horrible brakes and suspension.....no catalyst...burn your eyes at a stop light...I don't miss it....

Shown here with a 1968 grille I ran for a while...

Found this pic while googling searching '69 Chargers, it is a 'one of one' '69 Charger 500 with a flat fastback rear window, 426 Hemi & TorqueFlite trans.



That flat deck rear window solved the aerodynamic lift problems that the stylish inset rear windows were causing much to everyones surprise & dismay.











You might have solved the other aerodynamic issue that showed up in wind tunnel testing (gaping grill induced drag) when using that grill! Was this intentional or just done for looks? I believe the 500 used a 68 Coronet flush mount type of grill as an answer.



I always loved the 440 motor myself. They had a great sound when putting the hammer down!

I had a Charger 500 and a Daytona back then before they became overpriced...That rear window modification was a fiberglass "plug" fiberglassed and bondo'd into the rear window area. It was done by a private company under contract to Dodge.

My '500' was one of the first 10 produced. They may have switched to metal later on, but the early ones were 'glass....

I just can't understand how the exhaust got to you at stops without a leak somewhere? WTH Rob? That would piss me off too!

Awesome car but is it worth that price tag? I do know those original matching Hemi motors are bringing the bucks but sometimes I find the hyperbole of the one of one claims because of some combination of colors or option to be foolish hype to up the price.

The color of mine is officially called in the Mopar propaganda "white knuckle".
It's like a step back in time. A second chance, so to speak.
When the 70's model came out I was 11. Now in my later 50's I finally snagged one.

Mine was R/T "big window," 440 4 barrel, 4 speed, no console, rim blow, factory non A/C car 8-3/4" sure grip with 3.23 gears.

I became a Challenger fan when I saw Vanishing point in 1971.

Been thinking about buying a new white R/T and having a deep dish 19" Rallye wheel made for it....

Some cool cars posted in here. I had a buddy who had a 340 Duster when we were in the Army. I had a 77' Hurst T-Top Trans Am at the time.

I have been in T/A's & Camaro's my whole life. My step Dad had an 81' Camaro Burlanetta (Spelling?) & I bought a 78' RS in high school from a lady who moved to Michigan from California and she wanted a truck for winter time after I crashed my twin turbo MR-2. She had a 66' Mustang she was keeping. Since then I have went to a 77' Trans Am to 93' Mustang LX Hatch 5.0/5spd to 84' T/A to 84' VW Scirocco to 78' Camaro to a new 370z which I just sold & bought a 97' Trans Am LT-1. I have always had a Jeep or Explorer or Truck along with these for daily drivers. Now my 2nd personal vehicle is my Harley since my work for the past 7 years has sent me a new Z-71 every couple years We also built an 87' Iroc Z for my son that I gave him for graduation. Sprinkle in a Probe GT & Eclipse Turbo I got for my ol' lady.

I want a 1971 455/4spd. Formula Firebird or split bumper Camaro eventually.

I really don't miss the old cars much. I mean, they look cool and all, but I appreciate the modern car's safety features.

I've always been a one-car guy. I still own only one car...and its still a hot-rod of sorts. Its less distracting for me to just have a single vehicle. And, since my first car project at 13 years of age, I still haven't owned an automatic and will never purchase one.

My daily driver Mustang isn't as fast as a Hellcat and I don't mind that. Its a super clean car, and I never allow it to get dirty.

I loaded a premium fuel race tune, 4.30:1 gears, MBRP muffler deletes and that's it.

I put 50,000 on it last year alone. I average 21-22mpg and get a best of 27-28mpg on long trips in overdrive.

I keep thinking about a new something, with a V8 and a stick, but I am not hurting for a good, fun car....

Awesome! I just passed on a 70 1/2 Z28 tribute.(as in not a real Z but made to look like one with a hopped up 350. He was asking $22K, but I seen bondo & a paint job coming in the near future so.. naaah)

My FAVORITE Camaro design!!! I was looking for one of those when I bought my 1967...it came out nice though...
