Demon unleashed

Mrs. Wav does have the 2.0 litre, dual overhead cam, turbo engine in her PT. It's the same engine they put in the SRT4. We've had electrical problems having to replace the brain twice. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

My son turned me on to the drift scene. I got to see Tarzan in action. I've been a Tanner Faust fan for a while

Now the whole chrome deal was a steady progression of safety demands, cost & weight savings all coming into play against there being chrome or even real metal bumpers anymore. Even the brite work we do see on various automobiles is various forms of coated plastic! The chrome bumper is history!

Yeah. I'm sure you're right. I still miss it, though.

I will take this opportunity to unashamedly post another picture of my 69 Pontiac 400 & all its many chromed parts glory!

Post away! Lovely, lovely car!

The PT is the retro car that could have been but never was. Aside from the GT model making a modest 230HP under turbo (still anemic for the weight, body style height & handling), the rest were way under powered with crap gas mileage & poor safety ratings as well (once finally tested).

That turbo is smokin in a little Neon but thrown into the PT Cruiser it is still somewhat of a PT Loser. (I've been waiting to use that! lol No offense.) I'm sure the wife loves it & thats great & really all that matters right? Heck, turbos are frik'n fun! And cool as hell ta boot. But I know you being the driver you are, you aint rock'n it yourself come time to recreate on the weekend & you certainly would never try to toss it around the turns or track like your bad a$$ whip. It just 'not that car' the way its designed.

I'm not even sure a bigger HP engine would have been worth it in the PT as the car is designed. Maybe if it went the way of it's retro styling ques & did a rear wheel drive version with chassis & suspension changes to match, maybe, maybe then but it would take intentional restyling to make that happen. But the PT sold just as it was mostly on sheer looks alone so, the rest never happened!

I'll bring up the 6th gen Camaro & it's 2.0 Turbo 4 cylinder making 270HP is still a let down even compared to the 6 cylinder motor & it's 335HP! And that right there is the sort of real kick in the pants the PT never got given. Maybe it was good enough for 335HP motor but garshdarnit, it should have been! I for one believe the over all look called for it. Silly me.

Isn't it a 2.4L or did I miss something in my reading. I will freely admit I'm just not up on my PT Cruiser specs. Well, I wasn't until today before I googled some stuff I never cared to know before! lol Thanks Wavey!
On the other hand, I've been googling up stuff on the Challenger, Charger & Hellcat for a while now. Good stuff man

They're making four-banger Camaros?!

I am officially sad. I need to go sulk in a corner.

Oh yeah. You see this bad a$$ car then you hear that little wheezy motor & go WTF!??
I've seen it described as it being like "seeing King Kong but when it opens it's mouth to roar, you hear Jennifer Tilly's voice come out!!"

Better to at least go for that V-6 that does a real nice job in this chassis with its 335 HP (don't listen to that bull$#it get the V-8 SS man)

Ahh, correct. Hers is a 2.4, mine is a 2.0

I don't dislike it. But...maybe I'm stoopid...but I'd kinda like to see a nod to the Shark-Nose and Z-28 era.

No doubt about it! I was hoping too! LOL

I love that RS extended center nose piece split bumper look!

And while you're dumpin all that cash into a car, why not consider the gorgeous & totally awesome GT350?

Maybe you'd consider a GT with a Whipple Supercharger putting out 780HP a bargain at $54k? (below) I would.

Here's my favorite 2017 bang for buck Stang, The Roush Performance package model also putting out 780HP for $54K! (see below)

One thing is for certain, when it comes to the Mustang various model options are not a problem.
