Thanks Johnny. That helps. I was beating myself up a bit.

Look at it like this RVA,it wasnt a Vintage Marshall or some rare amp.So as Don said a lesson was learned and the amps seem to work fine.

So that Peavey speaker cabinet i scored is a 4ohm speaker cabinet so im only gonna be able to use amp heads with a 4 ohm output.Im guessing it has 2 x 12 inch 8 ohm speakers in it and the way there wired makes it a 4 ohm cab.Now my Blackheart single 1 x 12 and 1 x 10 speaker cabs are 16ohm so im good for a variety of amp heads. Now my Blackheqrt amp heads have a 4,8,16 ohm output so i can use any of those outputs for the 16ohm speaker cabinets. The amps output ohms rating has to be less or equal to the speaker cabinet ohm rating and youll be good to go.

I would like to think that you would have heard, seen, smelled something if there was anything to worry about. You didn't mention anything worrisome...so...no hummm...no pop...no flash...no puff of smoke...no electrical stink...probably no problem.

OK, I will resume happiness. Thank you!

So far, I have brought down my own NAD thread. Let's see if I can lift it up tonight with some clips of the mic'd amp!

The amp is very responsive to volume changes. It does not have a lot of headroom in 7W mode (I haven't messed with the 15W yet), but certainly enough for my basement.
Less clean headroom is normal when switching to the lower wattage setting. A typical half-power switch changes the power tubes from a full-power pentode mode to a reduced power triode mode. You'll notice a slight volume drop, too. The reduced power should make the amp sound more compressed and smoother with less overall highs. If you want more punchiness at the same volume, you'll have to use the full power setting. It'll also affect the way your pedals respond.

Very cool. Thank you. I was surprised just how small the volume change was between wattage. I know the multiple of wattage to volume is significant. Your description is reminiscent of my compression pedal in that it increases breakup on the OD and seems to accentuate the reverb. etc.

OK, I promised less whining and more playing. If anything sounds off, it is my playing, not the amp

It is very VOXish aint it............nice tones man well done!
Thank you

I guess it is Vox-like. Even though I own a Vox VT30, since it is a modeling amp, I am not sure what it is supposed to sound like!! I will A/B them now with the Vox on "manual". If it is interesting, I will record.

There is a certain "jangle" to a VOX that is alien to other amps-----cant describe it any better really---

Nothing else has that tone........and that HAS it
