Fake Tube Amps:

I agree, it looks killer, no doubt.

My ideal "dream rig" would be my 1993 Valvestate Bi-Chorus 8200 running (4) Marshall 1990 (8x10) cabinets, arranged with two straight-out on either side of the drum riser and the other two angled slightly inward.

Speakers would be Celestion 10" Neodymium BL-10 150 watt...

Oh Oh , not another rabbit hole coming, is there Robert.;)

I have to be careful. When I get distracted with gear, I don't practice/improve as much.

Very true.

While I do think there is value in developing one’s guitar and rig to sound and function optimally for that person’s individual needs and preferences, there is a certain illusion that one can succumb to. It is the sense that gear acquisition improves the player. The right gear can be inspirational and incentivize a person to practice and play more, but only the actual practicing and playing truly improves the player.

Good point.

It's like my mention of a "dream rig" consisting of (4) model #1990 Marshall 8x10 cabinets. I would only aquire that if I found myself touring. Everything else I can do with a head and a 2x12.

Guitars are another area. I respect guys who collect. I just want two or three "trusted" guitars that I know I can depend on.

Ever watch Jake E. Lee's Rig Rundown???

Just 2 guitars...period.

There's just not enough stuff that I could ever want that would total up more than maybe $3,000 at best.
That is because the combination of your playing skills. lutherie, mixing, etc can all earn you CASH. We other mortals have to parlay our raw materials and assets into capital which in turn can be sold to earn $$$$ due to there is no way in HAIL that our playing would even earn us a penny.

I'm blessed. I'm not a real smart fellow, I just been blessed.

I too, am blessed. I'm not a real smart fellow, and yet where I have little, I do my best to give much.
Not bragging or anything, just basically saying that no amount of money, high paying job or super intellect will ever replace my modeling the life lessons my dear mom and loving stepdad instilled in me. No matter what the cost, I am doing my best to give my dear mom the best care I can in her last days, weeks, months years of life since her July stroke. She nearly brought me to tears tonight as I sat next to her and held her hand before bedtime. As the TV preacher was giving his message about winning souls, Mom starts singin Hallelujah and of course I could not help but well up a little.

That's heavy, Man...

Blessings be upon you and your Mom.
